Myself? I'm on a Gene Wolfe kick. I just read the Book of the New Sun series and am now working on Urth of the New Sun.

About to start re-reading QUEST FOR THE WELL OF SOULS. I re-finished the first half of the pair, EXILES AT THE WELL OF SOULS, yesterday. Author is Jack Chalker. Part of his best series, imo.

Just started reading Weis/Hickman's 'Death Gate Cycle' - Book 1 'Dragon Wing'. Amusing and entertaining so far, but not of the quality of George RR Martin or SRD.

Just started The Island of Doctor Death and Other Stories, and other stories by Gene Wolfe.

Been a good weekend in fact, picked up that, Daughter of Regals, Book one of Fiest's Serpent War, (the sequel to the RiftWar books) and my own copy of Ender's Game.

Hooray for 2nd hand bookshops.

River of Blue Fire. Interesting the device used which allows this series to transform so freely between sci-fi and fantasy - the Otherland itself.

Re-reading my copy of the Riddle-Master of Hed trilogy. I didn't really get into it the first time I read it, but upon a second reading I'm enjoying it a lot more.

After that, maybe I'll actually have time to read the Liveship Traders trilogy by Robin Hobb. I bought the books back around Christmas but never got around to them.

I always thought Feist lost it after Riftwar. His D&D roots just shine through too much. Enjoyable reading, but no Magician.

Reading a series of short stories by KW's Moleary. I've read her HUNTRESS three times. Nice to revisit the characters in something new. Now she says there will be a novel sequel.

I finished "The Wyrm" last week and it was good. Not fabulous, but good. Now I am reading "The White Room."

True enough, Magician and the rest of the original Rift War books were much better, but I enjoy revisiting old characters moved on. I defitely think the Krondor books are a bit D&D-ish, but then, I liked D&D back in the day.

Still, enjoy them a lot, and the Empire series, with Janny Wurts, is excellent.

House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer. Sci-fi for adolescents, but suitable reading for adults. It really draws the reader in. It has won several awards.

Trading in Danger by Elizabeth Moon, about a young woman of great abilities who is dismissed from a military academy for political reasons but whose family gives her a merchant ship to command. Of course this cruise does not go as planned, not at all--breakdowns, a political crisis, a mutiny, etc.

One thing that impresses me are the very many clues left dangling which I suspect are story time-bombs waiting to go off in later stories. Hmmmm....

The Wicked Tribe have spent nearly two weeks in the 'dark room' between Otherland and the net, and all they have to say about it is 'boring room'? What sort of ten-year-olds are they?!
