I would, too.

Hawaii has a close to perfect climate.

Depends on which side of the island(s) you're on. Which I discovered when I flew into Hilo on the Big Island and stayed mostly on the eastern side -- the leeward side, I think? Anyway, it's the side where it rains all the freaking time. :( Waikiki was great; the North Shore of Oahu was great; Hilo, not so much...

Agreed. When going to the Big Isle, stay on the Kona side and do a day-trip to see KÄ«lauea and her sisters.

Wow. The Watch accepted the correct spelling of that name, special character and all.

Yeah, Kona is nice. We've stayed in Waikiki on Oahu, and in Volcano House (on the rim of the Kilauea caldera) on the Big Island. Highly recommended. Great views of the volcano and close to the park sites that are interesting to visit.

On Maui, we've stayed in the Kula Lodge, on the slope on the way up to the top of Haleakala, and in the historic Pioneer Inn in Lahaina.

We've been to Kauai, too, but only once, the place we stayed was there was just your standard modern hotel.

Back in Washington State and earning a degree in rocket science, last I heard. ;) I think she's just about done with school, though.

I haven't read the Last Chronicles, and I suppose I should reread the old books before I do, so I guess you're gonna be stuck with me for a little while ;)
