Question and proposal for my Pantheon brothers and sisters.
I am concerned that the Artifact process for P3 is too strict. However, I understand and support Xar's need to prevent all-powerful artifacts - easily created with no 'sacrifice' - from distorting gameplay.
However, is there a middle ground? We currently have two kinds of artifacts. Those requiring DRP sacrifice. And those that are create by followers from Random turn events.
Is there a middle type of artifact. One that could be created by deific inspiration. That might be imbued by DRP (but not DRP sacrifice). But would be less powerful than the Goddly Artifacts now defined?
I thought that an important part of P2 was the creativity of artifact construction. Simjen was especially adept and I'd like to learn. But my prediction is the current system will result in very few artifact.
Xar and I discussed this topic this evening. He question was: define what type of 'middle' artifacts might be created. While I tried, there are more experienced gamers in P3 that would do a much better job suggesting such (unless my idea is all wet.) Xar gave me permission to post the question and solicit suggestions.
So here it is!
