I was going to do my taxes this weekend, but I am missing a key piece of paperwork that apparently got lost in the mail and is going to be a right pain to replace.

I'm actually looking forward to tax season this year. Usually I'm indifferent, because a) I file online and it takes about 5 minutes, and b) it's always a no-score draw...I don't owe them anything, and they don't owe me.
This year, they will owe me a lot.

On the downside, I will have to do extra admin to convince them of it.

Mine are more complicated this year due to the new form you have to have to prove you have health insurance. (Which, of course, is the form that's missing, and apparently it won't be available online until next month). I'm waiting because not having the form will lead to having to pay a fine. Hoping that since I pay a fair amount out-of-pocket for health coverage that some of that might appear back in my pockets, but not counting on it.

Yeah, your guys tax system is massively complicated, from everything I've heard. Here, they wanted the simplest, fastest way of separating people from their money.

And the revenue service is unquestionably the most efficient government department in the country.

Yeah, funnily enough, I seem to have noticed an increase in that here too.

people are selfish, Mr Rogers told them they were special and they believed it. so now they believe the world owes them something and that we all should move out of the way for them.

My boss, apparently, cannot handle confrontation. I'm older and I understand that conflict is inevitable and there is no need to feel personally threatened by disagreement. Oh well. She wants things "handled" in a certain way so that she controls the flow of communication. Well, she is the boss after all.

After spending an hour being transferred about on the phone before finally finding someone who could send me my missing form, and waiting almost two weeks for said form to arrive in the mail... They sent the wrong paperwork. Not even vaguely close to the form I need.

right now pet peeve is bosses who schedule time off that interferes with a 'Fest my wife and I planned to attend.
said boss being Julie's boss.
and the fact that said boss knew nothing of the 'Fest makes it a bit more frustrating. the conflict was created by random happenstance.

Time off is a constant bone of contention where I work. Though it has gotten a bit better since we added some staffing.

Don't even get me started on the subject...
...aaaand round two of trying to get the bloody tax form that I'm missing.
I've been told:
1. That they were mailed at the end of January, and if I hadn't received mine, it was likely MIA in the mail.
2. That they'd mail me a duplicate. (Major fail.)
3. That they haven't been mailed yet, and I should receive mine by mid-March.
I don't know what to believe. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.
Veterinary hospitals are run better than human hospitals - in almost every way - wait time, tests, test results, billing...

It's very frustrating. Employers are required to have W2s mailed by the end of January. I realize this is the first year that this paperwork has been required, but I don't see how it's legal that they haven't even mailed it out yet.
IF they haven't mailed them out yet. The first guy I talked to on the phone over two weeks ago said he'd already received his.

I got my W2 late this year, too. They are distributed at work in January. The secretary is supposed to send them back to the corporate office if they are not picked up, but she was late in doing so, and I was not at work for most of January due to my eye surgery.

Mail? In this day and age? My work emails my (I assume) equivalent to me.

More boss complaints: mine sent a text at 6am that she wouldn't be in this morning till later. Fine, but she left a couple of responsibilities hanging. She gets more and more amateurish as time goes on. Grr.
