Yeah, it was part of the rules; besides, I hadn't gotten all that far on it . First I thought about changing it to 'Nom's Ipod", then decided I didn't want there to be 2 music lists, so I went with the Elohim thing. It wasn't an act of class, I just wanted mine to be unique.

Vain List:
You're so Vain
Train In Vain
Purple Vain
The Vain, the Park, and Other Things

Nom List:
Remember (walking in the sand)
The Wall Pt. 2
Horse with no Nom
Enter Sandman
Anything by Four Nom-Blondes
Dandelion don't tell no lies
Dandelion will make you wise
Tell me if she laughs or cries
Blow away dandelion

I'm afraid there's no denying
I'm just a dandelion
a fate I don't deserve.

The Test of the Descent
  • Image
Survivor: Isle of the One Tree

From the rim of the crest, a black gulf sank into the center of the Isle.

    "Down there?" Covenant croaked.

"Aye," muttered Pitchwife warily. "No otherwhere remains. We have encountered this Isle with sufficient intimacy to ascertain that the One Tree does not lie behind us."
In this Test, the Survivors must be the first to get to the bottom line.

Just to recap, the remaining three Survivors are:
  • Hue of Bone
  • Savor Dam
  • ____
Imagine if the Chronicles movies were such a big hit that three cereal makers were vying for the exclusive rights to brand a breakfast cereal based on them. Each Survivor must provide me with a picture showing me what a box of cereal inspired by the Chronicles movies would look like. The winner is the Survivor who's cereal looks like the biggest money-maker.

As always, it's the idea that counts, not the execution, so have no fears if you are not a wizard with Paint or Paintshop or Gimp.

To win the Staff of Immunity, send to me via PM the answers to the following questions:
  1. What are three examples of objects of power that Giants have weilded to produce magical effects, excluding the Illearth Stone?
  2. Briefly, what was the significance of the transformation of Vain's arm at the Isle of the One Tree?
  3. According to Donaldson, what is "strayed from the question" code for?
  4. In what way is the word "clench" associated with the Chronicles?
When all of the entries are in, the audience will vote for the Survivor whom they consider to have surpassed the others in this contest. Then the winner of the Staff of Immunity will be revealed. The Survivor with the least number of votes will leave the Isle with a cash prize of 100 WGD. However, the Survivor who has won the Staff of Immunity cannot be voted off. The remaining two Survivors will move on to the last and final Test.

Sure, why not. But I like that you should wait until the Survivors post theirs, so that you don't influence the contest, good thinking.

Wow... good entries. And timely too!

How about I wait until Wed PM for Staff of Immunity answers? If you want more time, just shout!

BTW, next round there will be no Staff of Immunity. So this is the last chance for Savor Dam to not win it. :)

Wow, they ARE all great... I was gonna do Ur-Lord Covenant Crunch Berries made with imitation aliantha berries OR Honey Bunches of Amanibhavam.

I have to go with Gilden Grahams for my first choice and Berek Flakes as my runner up. Why you ask? The free Haruchai action figure rocks my socks off, quite brilliant ____. Hue, the slogan for Berek Flakes made me laugh, very nice job. SD, your idea was great, attention to detail was fabulous and made it a seriously difficult choice.

Oh, good point.

VOTE!!!!

Vote for one (1) Survivor. (This time our Arch Pimpager should attract enough voters so that we don't need to double up.)

BTW, where has Krazy Kat been?

May I request for those of us who may not be chrons experts that the Survivors describe the chrons details they put in to their cereal boxes? The design of hue's cereal box is unfamiliar to me, so I'm afraid I may be overlooking something.

If not, I'm good either way. But I want to be able to judge each entry fully.

I too go with the Haruchai Action Figure in the Nameless One's Cereal by just a hair.

First place was tough enough, I'm not even going to attempt to narrow down second place

I guess I'm going to go against the popular vote so far.

I love the action figure, and the simple change of an "O" to an "I" for the name. I like hue's slogan and the name is a reference, although for mass market, Berek might slip past the general populace who see a chrons movie.

But for me, SD put a lot more thought in to movie tie-ins.

From "White Gold Rings" to "Glimmermere Mills," and what the different colored cereal loops signified, as well as the (unseen) marshmallow bits, it just speaks more chrons to me than the others. I'm afraid there may be even more chrons tie-ins that I am missing, in all of the designs, which is why I asked for them to be pointed out. But without explanation on the Survivors part, I'm going with Savor Dam's.

way said to only vote for one. Unless asked, I'll leave it at that.

Savor Dam has that little U-in-a-circle thing on the box. Obviously meaning that the cereal has been approved by an Unfettered one. I think that's a nice touch. :)
