As I understand ... that sounds like your mother!! *hearty laughter*
Heh, yes well, I do have her essence hanging around my neck. I guess some of it rubbed off on me.
But I comprehend your sentiment. It is not my place to judge another god's motives or decisions; I support brother Dagon's right to decide for himself. For myself, I will not tax Life. Life is a gift to be shared!! [speaking of gifts, I have an uncle that likes to share his gifts as well!! *chuckles*]
I, too, support his right to help his followers prosper. However, I would hope for a more equitable manner. Demands upon others does not always bode well.
Now, might my followers earn a fee if they perform some extraordinary service ... perhaps. Our followers must live and prosper. But I will leave it to them to manage their mortal affairs ... I will not become the divine taxman of Life!
I agree entirely. I would do the same. If my followers performed some special service, a fee would be in order.

Yet, perhaps O-gon-cho is right. I might be taking exception of Dagon due to his initial words and demands of payment. She of all should know that he is young and young gods are impetuous. His words were hasty, as were mine.

Perhaps if Dagon could devise a more equitable system of taxing, perhaps it will be more palatable.

Dagon?

*hiding pleased grin*

I am glad at least one found my words of value.

But...this talk of old age and young deities is getting to me. As your oldest brother pointed out, I am not that much older than those of Bhakti and Jove. Nor of the children of Simjen and Hedra Iren, should we ever learn of their offspring. The difference is I entered the interdiction ascended...

Well, O-gon-cho, I originally said you are only a couple years older than me, but you keep insisting you are, in essence, older. I'm just trying to show you the respect you insist is your due. Hehehe...

...yeah...yeah...yeah...

...I thought we had worked that out behind the scenes...

And I did just tell your sister that you had pointed that out to me.

Dagon:

Brid's followers will gladly pay your toll.

Yet Brid will expect from you 100% recompense of the value of both Brid's wealth and followers if anything untoward happens to them. Having paid for your safekeeping, you must ensure they are kept safe.

Do you agree to this?

Honey, did you say? I may be easily amused but I am not very easily kept. When the time for endearments comes it is surely time to move on. :P

Hold on tight
You know she's a little bit dangerous
She's got what it takes to make ends meet
The eyes of a lover that hit like heat
You know she's a little bit dangerous

She's armed, she's extremely dangerous
She's got what it takes to make ends meet
The eyes of a lover that hit like heat
You know she's a little bit dangerous
Ooohhh, just a little bit dangerous

I have some things I would like to say. I would like to let everyone know the situation with Eiran's Forests. I would like to make things clear right from the beginning, so there are no misunderstandings or mistakes. Truly, I do not want to seem unfriendly. I am by no means hoping for trouble. I want nothing more than what my father wanted - happiness and safety for my followers and Forests. Nor am I anticipating trouble from anyone in particular. But when deities come to Eiran, trouble comes with them. It is my hope that explaining my role, giving some specific examples, and letting all know that I am eager and happy to answer any questions, will minimize harm and danger to my Forests.

Being so concerned with one Forest in particular, and having his attention split because of having inherited Love from his father, my father did not do a very good job of protecting the Forests. Nor Yekith did whatever he damned well pleased with the Forest in Nor Pupae, and my father did nothing. The Forest on Thellarr was severely depleted before my father noticed.

Such will not be the case in the Third Age. The Forests are mine. They are my body; my strength; my Love; my Life. They are under my protection.

The simplest way to say things is this: Treat the Forests the way the Forests want to be treated. Some things are obvious transgressions. Do not "clear the land" to make room for a settlement. Do not cut down Trees because you need wood for building materials. Do not presume!!

I know some of you already have followers in various Forests. As long as you treat them with respect and care, I have no problem. Live among the Trees the way the world's inhabitants have nearly always lived among the Trees. Have them be a part of the Forest, not a group living within, but separate.

When I learn of a problem - from the Tree Elders, the Forest itself, or by looking into things directly - I will let you know, so that you may cease immediately. No, I will not yell and threaten. It is entirely possible for any of you to unknowingly threaten the Trees. It is more likely for anyone's followers to threaten the Trees by doing things their deity did not tell them to do. And even that may be through ignorance. However, through ignorance or malice, I will not tolerate harm to my Forests.

By all means, ask me questions! I will answer endless questions!

My domain is a physical one. Most of you can be anywhere, and the rest of us cannot do anything to or with your domain without your cooperation. However, although none of you can use your power directly on the Forests, all of your followers can damage them rather easily. Obviously, I want to prevent this. But I do not want to do so by banning all followers but mine from entering the Wood. Not only is that impossible, but I would not dream of denying the greatest natural beauty in the world to anyone without reason.

L-rd Zephyr...ascension is good for you I see.

My centaurs have been nomads within your forests forever. They attempt to use only deadwood for their nightly fires, their weaponry, and the occasional more solid structures. If they should give any cause for concern, please inform me directly, or have Azver inform Raucous, Leier, or EtsiƤ.

I look forward to cooperating with you, as I had learned from your Father.
