I'll definitely want some vegemite, and I know Carla will be excited to have some especially good chocolate, or cookies, or both. So yes...both sound divine. Can you also bring over some marsupial? I don't care which, as long as they are housebroken.

Okay, I take back the marsupial, as we cannot have pets, which is a damn shame.

I am also paying a trip to the states; indeed I've spent nearly half a year there in the past 9 months; will look forward to seeing it again. I may come along to this meet up.[/list]

Ooh, ooh, ooh!!!

While I was in Australia, I got positively addicted to Cadbury's Boost candy bars! (which is saying something, since I was only there for like 10 days...) and I would love you FOREVER if you could bring me a few!!

Well, Cag: if Carla's a cookie and chocolate fan then Tim Tams for her :) And I could pack an echidna for you (that'd live outside...so you'd be right...and it'll keep your ant population down).

And magickmaker...your wish is my command. :)

Oh, just bring us a candy store and we'll all be happy. And two of every animal in Australia. In fact, don't bother with the plane...come over in an arc.

I'm allergic to pineapple. 8O

Ok, I was looking into making the travel arrangements and there's a package deal for the Red Lion hotel that's pretty reasonable. Is that at all convenient to your place Cag? It's 4040 Quebec St and says it's in downtown Denver.

No matter where you are downtown, it is not convenient. Traffic sucks downtown, but then again, you live in California, so it might just be relative, other than the sudden 1 way streets and sudden turns as this part of the city is blocked off, etc. In all seriousness, I wouldn't go downtown, but you wouldn't be too far away from where I live if you do, provided you are on the west side of downtown. But driving really does suck there. I would think downtown Denver would be more expensive than some of the other places around, but I could easily be wrong. Honestly, the same distance west, north or south of my house will save you a lot of time and headache. Anything around US-6 is best though, and from Mapquesting it, looks like it isn't too far.

All this aside, if you want to spend some time and money downtown, then this might be a good location. But in all honesty, I don't know my way around there very well, and from looking at the map, does take you by some of the difficult places. I'll quiz Carla who knows the area a bit better than I do. I'd guess it would be closer to 30 minutes away from my place.

I just checked Mapquest too, Jenn. 40th & Quebec is the other side of town from Cag's (and it's closer to the airport than to downtown, those filthy liars! ). You could try searching for hotels in Lakewood or Wheat Ridge and see what you come up with. That will get you on the right side of town, at least.

Does that make sense, Cag?
