By the way, since I am now in the common room again, when I was looking at the flying thing with Detect Magic (and since it can pierce solid objects, I still haven't stopped looking at the aura
) I attempted any appropriate Knowledge and Spellcraft and any other useful rolls to determine everything I can determine about it.

OK... First off, didn't Laurel and I just take the time to move Beau inside? Or is this a different halfling?Seven Words wrote:The creature's stooping speed quickly make it's true nature obvious to all....it is a Manticore. More accurately, a VERY LARGE specimen of Manticore. A glint off something in one ear flickers briefly, before the creature disappears...only to reappear as it executes a fly-by snatching of the halfling! It quickly weaves off between buildings, heading off to the north!
I suppose I can see it happening if it attacked so swiftly that we didn't have time to get him inside, but then both of us would be next to him, and we should have gotten attacks of opportunity, shouldn't we?

Greetings all! The most esteemed DM Seven Words having given me permission to join your adventurous band, I thought I'd best do as courtesy demands and announce my impending presence.
Which is just a really wordy way of saying, 'hi!' and 'I look forward to rping with you all.'

Lol. Thank you all, for the welcome. I haven't rped online for a few years now, but I used to be quite addicted to it, so I'm confident I'll get back into the swing pretty quickly. Game on!

Heh. Every time I think I'm out, they pull me back in...lol.
Oh, and my bad for not waiting for Laurel to post before jumping in again. Just a tad over-eager, doh.

I've been meaning to ask about that - the use of a game-specific avatar. I like the idea muchly, but how do I go about creating one?
Oh, and I gather that there is no set rules for posting order outside of combat then, yes? Just follow the dictates of the story...

Your best bet is to create a second account on the Watch, then upload a different avatar. You'll need a second email address.Earthfriend wrote:I've been meaning to ask about that - the use of a game-specific avatar. I like the idea muchly, but how do I go about creating one?
At this point, between Beorn (Vynarkus), Hyperception and myself, there are ~15 different Watch usernames that we access on this laptop.

What I have found is you are best off using gmail. Before that I was creating new email accounts wherever I could for my various Watch GT PCs.
With gmail, all you need is one account. For instance, my primary account is for my Pantheon deity, O-gon-cho. Her base email is heartoftheflame@gmail.com.
gmail allows you to add an addendum to the name of the account, and the Watch recognizes it as a separate address. So, for Laurel, her email address registered to the Watch is heartoftheflame+Laurel@gmail.com. And email sent to her goes to the primary heartoftheflame account. So I don't have to check multiple accounts for emails.

As far as an avatar itself, once a new account is generated just upload one. However, if you have an image in mind you would like photoshopped and customized a little, I'm willing to give it a go.

Cool, thanks for the info, Menolly. I'll look into this gmail you speak of forthwith...
And thank you for the offer of helping with an Avatar. Tis most kind, especially considering how technologically challenged I am, lol.

If you don't already have a gmail account, let me send you an invitation.Earthfriend wrote:Cool, thanks for the info, Menolly. I'll look into this gmail you speak of forthwith...
I'm unsure if anyone can start an account without receiving an invitation first...
Look for the email from my primary account, mentioned above...
