my mate likes to say "full grown men" about musicians like Cash, Sinatra, (i don't know that he would include Elvis) Jimmy Page, Hendrix, Leslie West, ZZ Top, Mick and Keith, etc. (yes, mostly guitar gods). music played by full grown men.

the Beatles didn't ever really fit that mold, so to speak, with the exception of John Lennon, (see disclaimer below :) )!

but i always thought the argument was Beatles vs Stones? Elvis never entered into it for me. he was kinda out there on his own. no one really to compare him to for me.

It'd be really good if you stopped making broad generalizations about music in the form of a one-sentence post. At least attempt to back up your claims, if you even can.
