I was thinking more of just personal stuff, questions etc, than Watch related stuff. Saying I'm going on hols for a week or you're coming to London and want to know if any watcher is up for a meet etc. Couldn't that a) be useful and b) get bods back into gen disc on a regular basis again? :)

Not sure about that. I don't know many early Av posts---but peter has more paragraphs in most posts nowadays than Av posts have words.

Here's a thing [total nothing related to anything except I saw it and wanted to tell Av, but others might find it worth hearing about]...past weekend wife and I were visiting parents, went to take in glass museum...in the modern section, one of the first [if not THE first...museums are big and visual and I get drifty/time-lost] exhibits was done by a South African artist [conceptually, with the aid of local women, all Zulu according to the description card]

It was a coil of rope---very attractively coiled---that was a MILE long, and hand-threaded with 4.5 million tiny black beads.
Sounds kinda silly and/or "We were trying to get in the Guinness Book of World Records" typed out here. But it was flawless, meticulous, and impressive in reality. Kinda fractal in its way...not cuz large patterns replicated small, just that there was precision/detail at every level...from entire loops of the rope on down to the individual braids/twists/threads in each inch.

The museum was also, mostly very very quiet...you could almost hear a pin drop---except the guides for tour groups. Damn. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones...tour guides in glass museums shouldn't shout. Or even talk much.

Haha, there is no doubt that my loquacity has waned in direct proportion to my available free time and the amount of work I'm technically supposed to do. :D

However, with my first several years as a solid foundation, I'd be willing to go word-count to word-count, if we only had any way of determining them.

Not that it's a competition. ;)

Oh, and Zulu beadwork is certainly justifiable famous. :D

We don't talk about Imperator Mar'gok. (Actually, we do talk about Imperator Mar'gok, just not in words that are fit for polite company.)

That sounds really neat. I found a couple of pictures online, but I'm sure that doesn't compare to seeing it firsthand.
