Whee!!

I have to pack and get ready all day tomorrow, one more rehearsal tomorrow night, (and one more day of work for Colin) and we leave early Thursday morning. We're going to take our time, stretching the 10-12 (?) hour drive over 2 days, and stopping for a closer look at whatever catches our interest on the drive. We'll camp on the way there and back.

We're sooooo excited! This is the first trip we've taken all by ourselves in the entire time we've been married (9 years in Oct.) We never had a honeymoon - in fact we spent the first week of our marriage with the in-laws, waiting for our apartment to open up.

So this is a really big deal for us.

Can't wait to see you guys there!!

I'm about 95% packed. The only thing I haven't found yet is my swim suit, but I think I know where that is.

This evening I have to print out a few maps, and tomorrow morning I'm going to clean out the car, but my plan is to be on the road by 10 am and in St. Louis by 4 pm. I'll meet Duchess' family and friend at the Cardinals - Cubs game at 6 pm.

Thursday will be a long day. We're going to drive to Amarillo from St. Louis, about 750 miles.

My guess is that we should arrive in Albuquerque in the early afternoon on Friday.

Hey, man, it was, like, a total drag, man. SRD didn't even show up, the restaurant served hot gazpacho at $22 a bowl, and somebody's dog bit me and then died of it. Bummerrrrrrr! I might as well have stayed home and listened to Leonard Cohen albums.

(There. I haven't gone yet, but that should help you keep the envy down till I get back.)
