Hello Everybody!
I was amazed to find this place last week and have enjoyed reading the discussions. I read the Covenant books many years ago (1986!) and just last week discovered that there is to be a 3rd chronicles! The memories came flooding back and I had this sudden urge to re-discover all things Covenant. So here I am.
I'm re-reading Lord Fouls Bane at the moment and trying to track down The Illearth War and The Power that Preserves - somebody borrowed, but never returned them.
Hopefully, I will contribute to discussions in the coming months....

Abaddon, does your name by any chance indicate a familiarity with Julian May's Pliocene Exile series? I know the name has a more general application, I just like the Pliocene series.

Or perhaps Abaddon is a fan of David Gemmell's Jerusalem Man novels, taking his name from the puppet ruler of the Hellborn

Dragonlily you are absolutely right - the name definately indicates a familiarity with Julian May's Pliocene series!
Interestingly, it was on a Julian May forum that somebody mentioned a new Covenant series was in the works. That's what lead me here.....

Well I am new to this site, was pointed here by one of your fairly active members...
About me: Math/Physics theacher, read a fair amount of SF/fanatsy, more SF then fantasy. Favorite writers are Tolkien, Peter F Hamilton, Wil McCarthy, L.K Hamilton (anita blake vampire huntress) R. Zelansky (Amber)... (I must admit S. Donaldson dont place as one of my favorite writers, more about him further down). I watch a good amount of SF (B5 rules) and like to go out in the forest to play Live action roleplay.
Warning!!! English is NOT my native laguage, and I am dyslexic even in my own laguage (dyslexic has more fnu)
about S Donaldson: I started to read about thomas covenant in highschool but quit in anger over his inabillity to act... started to reread them a few weeks ago thanks the a friend who is a big fan. I still get frustrated reading the books, I quit all the time in anger and need breaks before going on. But the books are good, and the characters have deepts and layers, the world is special and have charm (I love the giant in the 1st book). Just read the 1st two books and will start the third as soon as i finish another book I started to read since couldnt bring myself to start and read about that depressing awfull thomas covenant...

Hey Per7, welcome to the Watch.
I had the exact same problem with the Chronicles when I first read them (I read the Gap books first), I found Covenant's attitude deeply frustrating. I (and probably everyone else here) would urge you to stick with it, as TC goes on quite a journey and emerges as a much changed character by the time we get to the second Chronicles.
