Heh, I know nothing about the "night-life" anywhere. Not even around College Park. I'm a strange college student.

But I'll be up for anything, as long as I know when and where.

And I'll offer my small single one-bedroom apartment to be available for any of our single, female Watch members.

Er...maybe not. Heh. :P ;)

(Although you all can still come over and raid my fridge if you want.)

See, I live in Virginia. So I don't know *anything* about Maryland....

I think Annapolis would be about an hour from the hotel(s), barring traffic. So, yeah, figure two hours. :(

We proposed meeting in the Radisson bar on Friday night because it would be convenient to those staying at the hotel. But y'all can meet wherever you want -- I'm flexible. If one of the locals has an idea for a meeting spot for Friday night in, say, Largo, that ought to accommodate pretty much everybody. The folks staying in the hotel can get on the Metro Blue Line and ride it to the end...and Cail wouldn't have to come all the way into town.

Hmm, wonder if there are any Irish pubs in Largo...?

LOL, I was actually getting excited about Annapolis... Not as bad a drive from my house as from DC. *sigh* But it really is a rough haul on a Friday night.

There's an Austin Grill in Silver Spring that does rockabilly and bluegrass, and has a really long happy hour: "From 2 to 7 and then 10 to close, the bar offers $2.50 beers -- including Texas favorite Shiner Bock -- and $3.50 margaritas, as well as a happy hour menu that's served until 1:30 on weekends and 12:30 during the week." - so sayeth the Wahsington Post.

There's also Biddy Mulligan's in DuPont Circle (upscale Irish pub, no live music), Pizzeria Paradiso and Birreria Paradiso in Georgetown (16 draft and 80 bottled beers!!! , no live music, and apparently very popular on Fridays)... well, I'll troll through the rest of the Post's Editor's Picks later, and see if I can come up with some other interesting, somewhat central-to-everybody stuff.

What exactly does everyone want for Friday night. Dinner and drinks? Just drinks? Coffee? Live musics? DJ music? No music? Help me narrow it down. :D We have a ton of options around here.

Trust me, if the weather's nice, the last thing you want to try to do is go East on 50 on a Friday night.

Which Raddison bar?

I'm for dinner on Friday night, and I prefer live music over DJ music, but mostly I just want to talk and socialize with all of you.

Cail, the Radisson I believe was on Jefferson Davis Highway in Arlington, Virginia. I'm staying at the Hampton Inn based on Aliantha's recommendation and I'm pretty sure she said the Radisson was close by.

I guess it depends what everyone's looking for.

-Do we want a quiet-ish place to hang out, talk and have a few drinks?

-Do we want a club?

-Do we want a college bar?

-Do we want a bar/pub?

Hotel bar is perfect if we want to be able to converse. Anything else, and my adrenaline will start pumping, and there's no way I'm going to be able to drive home (a man's got to know his limitations).

Friday night in DC or Alexandria is going to be crowded. I haven't been out in G-Town in nearly 20 years, but back in the day it was mostly dance clubs with a youngish (early 20s) crowd.

It depends what everyone wants to do. There are a lot of really fun bars and clubs in DC if we want to bounce around. I'm wide open, I'd just like to have an idea what we're looking for so I can plan my sleeping and driving arrangements accordingly.

Edit-Ultimately I think it ought to be up to the people who are coming in from out of town, but what do I know.

Well, I say NO to the college bar/club scene - always WAY too loud, and I hate to have to shout to make myself heard.

If I come on the bike then....

-I'll be in jeans and boots and prolly sweat my butt off.

-I can only have two drinks, or....

-I'm sleeping in someone's bathtub.

Alcohol and a late-night, 45-mile ride home on a black motorcycle don't mix.

not a problem...i imagine i will be staying in the same hotel as dlb (unless it's all booked by the time i make reservations) and if ANYbody gets too drunk to drive they can crash at my room and i can stay at recluce's apt. or we can have a slumber party and EVERYBODY can crash in my room and we'll sleep in piles like cats or whatever.

but if you're gonna be uncomfortable coming on the bike, don't! k? not a big deal.

i'm only trying to have as MUCH FUN AS POSSIBLE!!

Yah, between the booze (I do like to drink a bit, after all) and the thought of people screwing with it while it's parked in DC, I'd rather not bring it. Not to mention the fact that I'd rather not be tromping around in late June in biker clothes.
