I suspect that was why they did things like that. Whole boxes of only green ones etc. (We're talking about the triangular green ones, right?

In my town we have a guy who got lucky and hit the big lottery prize. Unlike most people I guess, he didn't move to a luxury apartment on a tropical paradise, but stayed in his terraced house alongside the people he knew. I get this; I guess what he wanted - what we all want - is our own lives, only better, not to tear ourselves up by the roots and begin again from scratch. There has been the inevitable jealousy of course, but I love it. The other day I saw the guy swooshing through town in his new open-top sports coupe, all glistening chrome and metallic paint and I thought "Yes! It's true that much of the time life is pretty harsh, but that sight serves to remind us that sometimes it goes the other way as well."

Or keeps you grinding hopelessly away because there might just be that miniscule chance...? (Not you personally, but in general I mean.)

Please do, by all means. (And yes, there's a quota...as many posts as possible as fast as possible...we've got 2 million to reach y'know...

)

I think there has to be a bit of an ironic aspect to Donald Trump standing before an organisation called the
United Nations and telling them that he will wipe one of them from the surface of the earth.

And I see his wife has called on the UN to do more to save the children. Of course, nobody wants to actually give them the power to do anything, but they sure make a good scapegoat...

I think UNICEF is a fantastic organisation. I can't remember the exact stats, but there are tens of thousands of children who by virtue of their activities make it through those most dangerous first five years and who would otherwise die. Sure it's not perfect, but I suspect it's more than the Trump empire does to protect them.
