I'm not much of a photographer, but I thought this one turned out pretty cool. I wish I had taken it with my real camera rather than my camera phone, but still, not too shabby. This was at the front of the hotel I stayed in at Philadelphia last month.

Thanks Lucimay! I do love my lens but actually some of the butterfly close ups were with the normal lens. It was so preoccupied by the lavender that I was able to get practically on top of it. Roadrunner was of course the monster zoom. I'll lug the laptop Sunday for laundry and I will show you the whole repertoire. I've missed you girl.
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....
It's a real roadrunner but sadly the jackalopes evaded my camera. The bees were small so they might not scare HLT that much... They only look big cuz I was right up on em...

Lore, that is a cool shot of the Eiffel Tower, with all the converging lines. Nice to see a famous landmark from an uncommon perspective. This and your London pics show you have an eye for urban photography.
Jenn, I'm amazed you got those gorgeous butterfly shots with only your "normal" lens. I can't get within 10 feet of them without them flying off in a hurry. Your pics would be a great complement to dlbpharmd's butterfly thread (lost somewhere).
As for scaring HLT, well, I did manage some nice closeups of insects this summer using the macro function on my Canon A710:
[quote="Cameraman Jenn"]I was going along great and loving your pics until you threw that horrible spider at me Lurch! I have a serious spider phobia. Ugh.
Did I ever tell you CJenn about me being stung from head to foot by a swarm of bees? Well its True. Very neat payback on your part...So I will tell you a good story about me and bees...After hiking one morning i returned to camp,, took my boots and socks off, and propped my bare feet up in the air and took a nap. I was woke by a tickling of my feet. My left foot was covered by bees feeding off the sweaty moisture...mmmm toe jam honey!..With the thought of toe jam honey in my mind I was able to,,not panic,,overcome my fears,,and in about 15 minutes of further tickling,,they all flew off filled with toe jam. I wished I had a camera.
The tarantula was but one of many that cross dirt roads at sundown. I actually stopped to let one finish crossing the road. Of course my relatives were just fascinated by them.
And your butterfly..I believe it to be a moth..a very picturesque moth, but none the less,,a moth.
