You know, my cousins .. I was thinking ... well ... lets just say ... *SPEECHLESS* .... nothing I could say ... wouldn't get me in more trouble ... than even the LORD of CHAOS and DESTRUCTION ... could handle!!

God of the Dead, your continued actions on Khenstorn are beginning to anger me. When you sent your Prophet and your settlers on our continent - without even bothering to ask for permission, or even to ask whether the land you wanted to reach was claimed by one of the Khenstorn deities, I might add - my Prophet met yours face to face, and delivered you a warning.
Rather than listening to the warning, your Prophet initiated further actions, culminating in your empowering of the Spire he has raised, so that an area of Khenstorn in the land I have claimed is now blanketed by your power.
Perhaps you believe to be in the right, and that therefore you should answer to no one. But I warn you once more: retire from Khenstorn, destroy the Spire, remove your power from my lands and apologize for your intrusion, or I will become the enemy you think I might be.
Other gods know I am not anyone's enemy; but your actions are tantamount to a provocation and an attack, and I will not let that pass.
I also ask the God of Justice to give a ruling on the matter. Here is the situation: the God of Death has sent his Prophet and settlers to my lands in Khenstorn, without asking permission to me, Argothoth, Nor Yekith or Chisi La'Roo, and without asking whether the land he intended to claim was already claimed by one of these four deities.
He was warned by my Prophet to leave at once; instead, his Prophet and settlers built a stone spire, and the God of Death imbued it with power so that a portion of my land is now invisible to my eyes.
God of Justice, I require a ruling: is the God of Death acting according to Justice?
Ponder this question carefully: for if you agree with him that his actions were fair, then Justice demands that you similarly accept that any of my people settling in the God of Death's lands - with or without his permission - would similarly be protected by you.

Where is this tower of Maeror's?

Melirelle
It is on my lands on Khenstorn, east of Nor Pupae. I claimed those lands when I claimed Aldastrian and Hope, and the God of Death knew that when my Prophet delivered him my message, after he landed on my lands without bothering to ask permission. Despite the warning, he went on to create this Spire, and the God of Death imbued it with his power; there is no doubt that he acknowledged or ordered this deed.
He has now received his second warning. Had the roles been reversed - had I sent my Prophet and settlers to his lands without permission - I would now very likely be facing war, or at least the stern condemnation of almost all the gods of Eiran.
The actions of the gods of Eiran regarding the God of Death's intrusion into my lands will decree whether they see me as an enemy or not - and how I will react.

He is an impertinent godling, this little one of Death (and Life!)
Cleanse him from the continent! Let him embrace DESTRUCTION for his impertinence!

Ah! I was not aware you had claimed Aldastrian and Hope. I remember they... disappeared, but did not look into why.
I eagerly await Maeror's response to all this.

No more impertinent a godling than you are, cousin.
I, however, also await Maeror's reply as I would also await yours Melirelle if your roles were reversed.
In other matters, if anyone has any knowledge concerning the two new knots in the Fabric of Reality it would be greatly appreciated.

There is a matter I would like to bring to everyone's attention, and ask you to keep an eye out. A mortal on Immeril created the Darkheart. It devours love, like a perpetually hungry maw; its power is such that the merest touch of the Darkheart may forever drain a person of any capacity to feel Love. The mortal's reasons for creating the Darkheart are unknown, but he and it disappeared from my sight soon after it was created. This is obviously of great concern to me. Please let me know if you learn anything about it.

Perhaps I would do well to begin by simply recounting the events that have occured.
It should be clear by now that your lover and I have some... philosophical differences. It was this that motivated me when I gathered my people, and when I sent them south. At that time, it seemed to me that the cities of Hope and Aldastrian had not yet chosen to follow a new god since the passing of Queeaqueg, and so I sent my prophet to offer them my faith, and his protection from what I have come to see as abomination. The show of force was for their benefit, so they would know that he could back his words with strength. I did not wish them to fear the retribution of another god should they convert.
Of course, your actions denied this offer from ever being delivered.
"...when they reach the cities which once belonged to Queeaqueg, they discover with horror that both cities - Hope and Aldastrian - are no longer. It is as if monstrous gorges had opened where they once stood, and then closed after swallowing them."
This discovery, and the demand delivered by Klasthrishh, understandably angered my prophet. Since his mission had been to offer protection, their destruction seemed an unwarranted act of violence. It was then that he devised the making of the spire, and asked me for my blessing upon it. Seeing that he would not be dissuaded from this plan--and I admit, I did not entirely wish to dissuade him--I allowed it. He wished only to shield his people from you and Nor Yekith; I did this, knowing that their presence would not be taken easily, and I did more, giving the spire an aura of health and life, for I wished the land to thrive even if my action brought strife down upon it.
Understand, Melirelle, that I knew nothing of you before these events began. I have known little of your actions or your nature since you were raised to godhood. It is true that in these past few months you have shown signs that you are not as I had believed you to be; it may be that you will convince me of it, in time.
What happens beyond this point? Well, it seems for now that the answer to that lies in the response of my fellow gods. We shall see.
------
On other matters:
Jove and Adomorn, I wish to discuss with you the matter of trade and justice in my new city of Serenity. What are the terms you offer for your people's services in these regards?
Norn: I cannot, alas, offer you any new information. But I am as curious as you that these knots would appear close in location to those that have appeared in the past...

This is news to me, brother. Now, that the time of clutch has arrived, I will ask Raucous to send out flight sweepers to see if they can spot anything.
Brethren, I come with joyous news. Through the blessings of Bhakti and Melirelle, the Hatching Grounds are covered with viable hardening eggs. I humbly thank you both for your efforts on my Dragons behalf.
20 golden queens are in clutch, each producing somewhere between 30 and 60 eggs! The eggs will harden during this turn, and I expect the Hatching to occur with the onset of Fall! As it will occur during the season of Hedra Iren, I request she smile kindly upon this momentous event.
As the eggs Hatch, the hatchlings will be most susceptable to being Impressed, connecting telepathically lifelong to a Rider. I hereby throw open the Hatching and Impression ceremonies to followers of the entire Pantheon, only seeking your good will in return.
If you are interested in the Impression ceremony, please hand select candidates to present themselves at Zandarar a month before for training on how to conduct oneself during a Hatching, so they do not get accidently mauled by a hatchling desperately seeking their Rider. I am thinking a total of 5-10 candidates from each of my brethren should be manageable. However, be forewarned that weyrling and Rider training takes three full years. Before that, the weyrling is too weak to carry a Rider very far, and both are too inexperienced to handle the wind currents.
Once notified of the candidates, I will send out the by then graduating weyrling class to transport the candidates to Zandarar. Be sure they are of stout heart, this class of new adults are swift creatures! All candidates who do not Impress will be returned the same way, unless they make an appeal to be allowed to find a non-Rider position in the weyr. Then, they will be encouraged to contact their prophet, and enquire what the will of their deity is for them to do.
Impression will not be subject to outside influence, not even mine! The choice of a Rider will be governed only by the Will and Freedom of the Hatchlings! If you agree to these terms, I look forward to having Raucous welcome your cadidates to Zandarar in two months time.

No, God of Death, your actions in the past months have been based on nothing more than a string of assumptions with no regard for other deities or their rights.
You ASSUMED no god had tried to convert those cities; you ASSUMED no god on Khenstorn would object to your claiming those cities; you ASSUMED the Khenstorn gods would be incapable of helping or protecting the people of these cities; you ASSUMED I destroyed them.
Did you ask any of the Khenstorn gods whether we had claimed or were claiming those cities? I was never asked such a thing. Did you ask whether your presence in Khenstorn would be welcomed? Again, I was never asked. And when did you become the protector of all Eiran? If roles had been reversed, and I had settled into your lands uninvited, would you have simply accepted my presence?
My Prophet told you, through your own: "I am Klasthrishh, Favored Prophet of the Elder of the Yekiths. I speak in her name. You have come to a land that is not yours to take, Prophet of Maeror; the lands of the foul Queeaqueg were taken from him by right of conquest. My Lady now rules over them, as Argothoth does on the others, and has protected them when the earthquake came. Tell the gods of Olaern and Landir not to intrude upon Khenstorn, lest the gods of Khenstorn intrude upon their lands in turn. If it is land you seek, Prophet of Death, seek it west, where all gods can find it, and thank the good will of the Elder of Yekiths for this bounty she has given you all. Now depart, for you are trespassing upon the lands of others."
Did he ever speak of destruction? On the contrary, he explicitly claimed I rule over those lands, and I protected them when the earthquake came. You could have simply asked me what had happened to Hope and Aldastrian, once faced with this contradictory evidence; and I would have told you what I tell you know, that the cities converted to my faith and I took them in the bosom of the earth after their foundations were damaged in the earthquake. But you didn't bother asking. No, you ASSUMED.
And then, as if it weren't enough, AFTER being warned that those were my lands, and without bothering yourselves with asking, you and your Prophet dared to establish that Spire of yours, and you charged it with your power, cloaking part of
my lands and taking them from me?!

Norn, about those knots in reality. With the blessing you gave me last turn I developed Simjen's Nails.
Your master smiths are taught the secrets of Simjen's Nails, which may be used to unravel the fabric of reality where it is knotted, strengthen it where it is torn or stressed.
They appear to have been effective. I can make them available to you or any other god who may need them.

I assumend no such thing. I knew that the cities had not yet converted, but I am not naive enough to think none were attempting it. I knew that the gods would object. My protection was not being offered because I believed others could not protect them, but because I thought that my protection might have seemed... preferential.
And of course I had no way of knowing the fate of those cities. All I knew was that they had vanished, as if swallowed by the earth. Now that you have told me otherwise, I apologise for my mistake.

Argothoth claims Queeaqueg and The Necropolis; shortly afterwards, however, Jove's power creates a tornado around the island of The Necropolis, and a golden star rises above it, obscuring it from divine sight.
Brother Argothoth,
I am indeed sorry about this. I heard no argument against taking Necropolis and so I assumed that it was safe to take.
Please, let us discuss our options on this matter. I am confident we can come to an agreement.

I am investigating this matter, and all parties involved. I will deliberate, and come to a decision that I hope the Pantheon will accept. I would ask that both you and Maeror answer my question quickly, along with sending me any PM'd statements you wish to make.
I also invite the rest of then Pantheon to send me their own views from an outsiders perspective.
If anyone has any problem with Merielle's request for my ruling, please bring it up in public, as the only power I have over the Pantheon is that which is granted to me. We would all find it very difficult and taxing to enforce a ruling on an unwilling Pantheon.
I will respond in a short time after the investigation if over.
Any questions?
