I dreamed I interviewed Mr. Obama. He was very nice.

(I'm fairly sure this was the first time an American president appeared in my dreams.)

Had another lucid dream last night, but it was very brief. Just long enough to create fireworks in the sky by hand gestures.

Last night’s dream was very much like an episode from Law and Order or CSI or some similar cop show. I played a great many roles, both cop, villain, and innocent bystander, and I think I got most of an entire episode from initial crime scene to finding/defeating the bad guy, so it reads a bit long.
---------------
I start out as either an investigating officer at the initial crime scene several days after the fact, or a bystander who has been paying a lot of attention. I am talking to another cop, speculating about a particular serial killer’s mode of operation. I insist that everyone who buys a certain item (a hat that looks like a giant tortoise shell at a tourist site) is a potential target, but the other officer scoffs at the idea. I watch somebody buy such a hat for a small child (maybe four or five years old), and I say that the little kid will probably end up dead soon. I also comment that it looks very simple to just steal the hats. One of the vendors overhears that comment and proceeds to demonstrate just how difficult it is to remove just one, with a series of complex motions and brute strength. Convinced that theft is no longer a factor, and certain that the killer did not buy hats to go with every person who had been killed so far, the other officer begins to acknowledge the credibility of my theory of hat purchasers.

Some time period later (either a few hours or a few days, in any case it is at night), a group of officers, random civilians, and myself (this time as a relative of one of the cops) are gathered near the vending area discussing something. One of the civilians, a rather cute guy, randomly comes up to me and pulls me over to the side where he spontaneously starts dancing with me. I’m confused, and flattered, by this, and after about a minute we return to our seats. I hear from one of the officers that the small child was found dead (either several hours or a day ago). Then my cell phone rings. I’m confused because it’s usually set to vibrate, so I pull it out to see what’s going on rather than just leaving it in my pocket and pushing the button to turn it off. It’s not my phone. In an accusatory tone, I say to the guy I danced with, “You switched our phones while we were dancing!” I know he did it on purpose too. We switch phones back to the correct owners, but by the time he gets it his phone has stopped ringing. Almost immediately my phone starts ringing, and it’s a number I don’t recognize. I turn it off (don’t want to waste my minutes), and immediately his phone starts ringing again. The cops who are present are looking at us suspiciously (especially the cop I’m related to). The guy answers his phone, hangs up, and abruptly leaves the plaza we are sitting in and runs down a side road. Several of the cops are about to follow him (convinced that he’s in with whoever is doing all the killing), but I stop them and tell them that he is a red herring, he wants them to follow him to distract them from something that will happen elsewhere, maybe here. He put too much effort into drawing attention to his phone call. They send one cop after the guy, just to be sure, but the rest stay. I leave and come back in the morning.

When I get to the plaza, I find out that there has been another killing, this time somebody I recognize as being near the vendors when I predicted the death of the little kid. The cop they sent never found the guy whose phone rang, but I figured he probably didn’t know much anyway (probably hired to do what he did). Several cops are analyzing the crime scene, the doorway of a building in which there are several bullet holes and a missing sign, and they determine that one person in a high place (probably the roof of one of the nearby buildings) shot the supports for one of the signs over the doorway of a building, in such a way that the sign fell onto the victim, simultaneously slicing into him and crushing him. There also was a bullet hole in the victim, suggesting the sign did not instantly kill him, despite it’s heaviness and sharpness.

Fast forward several days, and I am the villain. I live in the roof of an elementary school gymnasium, and have developed a system of wires (disguised as streamers) along the ceiling of the gymnasium so that I can get from one area of the building to another quite quickly. I am not worried about being discovered up there because nobody looks up anyway. I am quite deranged. Two women, probably lunch ladies or parent volunteers, are talking in one corner of the gymnasium, while several other women are inflating balloons and setting up for some sort of event. One of the women says something that is insulting to me, and I get angry at her. [surrealness] I use my system of wires to swoop down at her and try to hurt her, but she dodges out of the way and starts using a large pair of scissors to cut my wires, and tries to cut me as well. I dodge her scissors for several minutes, until my wire system no longer exists and I am in the air only because I am holding on to a great many balloons. Then another woman taunts me and lights one of the strings attached to a balloon on fire, causing that particular balloon to explode several seconds later. I manipulate the balloons so I can swoop down and grab her and drag her off to my hidden passages in the roof of the building. [/surrealness]

Suddenly, I have the point of view of a cop again, and I have the task of getting everybody out of the way while other cops chase after the villain. It is a weekend, so there are very few children to worry about, and the ones that are there are middle-school aged friends of my daughter, so I am able to send them home without difficulty. It is more difficult finding and removing all of the adults, especially as the gymnasium is now the setting for a gunfight. When that is accomplished I go in to help apprehend the criminal, and hopefully rescue the hostage. By this time the criminal has retreated into the heating duct system, and is dragging the hostage around with him. He is moving through the ducts so fast we have difficulty predicting where he will be (he’s fast enough he seems to be in several places at once. We dismantle some of the ducts, and he simply uses alternate routes. Eventually something happens that causes the whole system to blow up, killing both the killer and his hostage. The End.
---------------
I think for me the weirdest part of this dream was not that I played so many roles in it, but rather that so many people died and I had no emotions about it whatsoever. Each time I heard about or witnessed another death, I treated it as a fact to be acknowledge and nothing more. Even when I’m watching movies in RL I get emotional when people die (even the bad guys).

8O Awesome dream, Auleliel!

I dreamed that I was in school again. (Dammit, I'll never be rid of school dreams.) Syl - yes, Syl - was my instructor. He was dressed in full Guy Fawkes regalia as V from V For Vendetta. The details of the class were murky, but we were doing some kind of memory test, as though in preparation for some task or mission. All I remember is that I didn't seem to take the test seriously, and Syl/V didn't like my attitude. Heh.

I've had a completely f**ed up dream :S. I dreamed of some Zombie invasion... I never liked zombie movies and I was never afraid of zombies in movies, not even as a kid... I have no idea why does this keep stalking me :P . As a kid i was more afraid of Pinokio than of the zombies... I always thought i could run away why they make their move... They're too slow :P

Za krst časni krvcu proljevati
Svako svoje sa pokaje stare..."
"...The time has come,
It's time to battle
To spill our blood for The Holy Cross,
To avenge our elders..."

Hadn't had a Donaldsonian dream in a while, but last night I dreamed I saw the next Last Chronicles book in the store. However, it wasn't called Against All Things Ending. I couldn't make out the title; every time I looked at it, the letters became indistinct. I opened the book and saw an illustration of what appeared to be a small sailing vessel from the Land encountering a larger vessel. The picture then zoomed out...and the larger vessel turned out to be an oil tanker. Wish I knew what happened after that, but I don't.

A few nights ago I had another KW-related dream. I was at an Elohimfest in a big house. SRD was there just sort of hanging out, and he tried to have a conversation with me which didn't work out very well because I couldn't think of anything to say. There were at least 40 other people there, and nobody seemed to know what my username was (they kept calling me by my RL first name), even though in my mind I kept calling everybody by their username (even though I knew their RL names). I went to another part of the house and a bunch of really weird things happened, like people repeatedly falling through floors, trips to a beach on a river where there were venomous fish, etc.

A couple of nights later I had a Star Wars dream in which everything was animated Manga-style.

I really need to cut the caffeine before bed.

My dream was a Star Wars videogame, and I somehow was princess Leia. It was awful. At least I died near the end of the dream so I wasn't Leia anymore!
During part of the dream I was controlling one of the characters using my cell phone as a game controller.

I dreamed that I was assigned to perform a skit for some class I was taking. The performance was only for the teacher, and it was for a grade. My partner for the skit told me we were first up; I said we weren't ready; she said it would be fine. So we start. My partner is crouching under a table and I'm reading my lines off the back of a cereal box. Plus it's not really written in script form, so I find myself rapidly scanning the introductory paragraphs to get to the part where I start. Of course, there's a word I don't recognize in the very first line -- it's some sort of specialized term and I have no idea how to pronounce it, let alone what it means -- so I improvise around that, kind of. And then it's my partner's turn to speak, so I stage-whisper "go" to her, and she says, "Uh-oh." I look under the table; she's got a different cereal box. So she says to me, "Go to my brother's and get the box that matches yours." At this point, the teacher stops us and says, "Why don't you go and run through your piece a few times and come back?" To which my partner responds, "It won't help." And then I woke up. :screwy:

That sounds like a frustrating dream, aliantha.

I have discovered that I semi-hallucinate for a half hour to an hour after initially waking up in the morning, and the hallucinations are loosely connected to whatever dreams I had that night. Is that weird?

Nope, sounds normal to me. I've had the experience where it seemed like the dream world sort of continued into the waking state.

I didn't really feel frustrated in the dream, oddly. It was more like, "Okay, well, the end result is gonna suck, but I guess we'll muddle through somehow." I thought it was funny when my partner said that rehearsing wouldn't help.

I sometimes have an experience along those lines. If my alarm clock goes off and I hit 'snooze', I sometimes remember while dozing that the alarm went off, but I don't necessarily realise that I went back to sleep instead of getting up, which can give the subsequent dreams a strange sense of being more real than usual.
