Ok, if you insist...

What did Nick use to try and breach Sorus' ship, and how did she try and stop him?

--A

Ah, good one! I'm not sure, but I think Nick used a laser-rifle to undo the base of a matter cannon on the exterior of Sorus' ship Soar.

I think Sorus tried to foil Nick gaining entry by ejecting the cannon somehow, hoping doing so would kill Nick.

Well, can't have been that good...spot on in both cases. :D (Oh, it was a proton cannon actually, but whatever... :D )

Your question. :D

Thank you, Avatar! Sorry I didn't get the cannon type perfect, but it's your call, and I accept it. My question: when Nick is negotiating with the Bill for credit, he is about to mention selling something and shuts up when Sorus walks into the Bill's strong room. He refuses to mention it to the Bill after Sorus' entrance, despite prompting from the Bill. What was Nick about to offer the Bill in exchange for credit?

Not a bad guess, but not right. Nick actually mentioned Morn when negotiating with the Bill, and the Bill turns down that offer as more trouble than she's worth when Nick lets it slip that she altered the course of the ejection pod.

Nope, after the Bill rejected Morn, Nick decided to offer him ______________________, and almost said it, but immediately stopped himself when Sorus walked into the room.

What gave Hashi the clue that led him to deduce that the kazes were actually sent by Holt?

I'm pretty sure I can identify the right answer, but I'll let someone else bring you up to date if they can...

Not to get overly picky, but is Billingsgate a space station? Being situated on an asteroid, wouldn't it strictly be a base or colony?

The identification tags the kazes bore were coded during a time when only Holt could have set their codes? :?:

Oh, it wasn't all that easy for me, as I needed IrrationalSanity's clue to make my guess. My thanks to Sanity for the clue, and to Av for the question! I'll try to come up with something, shortly! :)

Well, technically, the ID card's security code was both "Current" and "Correct", which means it could only have been newly issued, by an official source.

Indeed, it was the fact that they were current and correct that showed they could only have been coded after he was supposedly fired etc.

Sounds like I had a lucky guess, then! But the details are getting blurrier as the months go by, it seems. Sounds like another Gap read may be in order before too long (don't know if I can do that any time soon, though, because I'm awfully busy)!

New Gap Quiz question: What is the name of the human space station that is closest to forbidden space?
