Yeah dont worry jenn, if someone had the nerve to tell me I couldnt be in The Stile due to historical claims, Id turn around and and tell them where to shove it, and then invade their own lands for good reason.

Look at Israel, Thats a debate of two halfs, and it comes down to force of arms. So be it. Sure each side has don some horrible things, but they are fighting for what they believe in.

I dont mind the debate. My only issue with it is that the Void cant just go and join in due to its nature, so I am stuck sitting on my hands avoiding responding to any posts :P

However, I do like your use if scholars to explore the activities of the day!!

It will be interesting to see how you manifest the void him / her / itself when you do have the Void speak!!

Good point Dorian. Oh, and I don't think I could ever play a god that had to keep their mouth shut. 8O :haha: That would be like Juliette Lewis playing a rocket scientist... or even somebody smart. It's just not possible.

That was quite a fun post to write actually

The void would need a hell of alot of followers to manifest into something to actively talk to gods

I think the main thing about these arguments for all the newbies here, is that they're in game. Don't take any of it personally. So if someone told you you had to leave (in game) then do what Dorian said, and argue back! It's all part of the game. :D

Yeah

Like, its obvious Unzen doesnt like me being there, seeing as im brewing in the stile:P, so Im just waiting for him to say so, and then the politics begin :P

But he currently fears me, so thats not going to happen anytime soon

Well said Balon. :D

I also think that perhaps some of us may have overdone the whole "historical claims" thing. Avatar asked Menolly to move and she didn't want to so she isn't. The fact that she wants to stay because that's where O-gon-cho was born is just story fluff. Such things won't be used to oust anyone from their cities or lands.

Now that P2 is over, I can use this as a good example for the newbie roleplayers here.

When Murrin and I got into a war, it wasn't because of actual action on my part, it was a random event that a warlord of mine started invading. So I PM Murrin and said basically "it's too quiet right now. Want to fight?" and he said "sure" so I ran with the random event and invaded.

We went back and forth in the game thread, and it was pretty intense, but it was all part of the game. No worries. :D

You mean we all had to put up with flip-flop Adomorn because the game was too quiet for you?

;)

Heh. Balon wanted an excuse to make Adomorn more interesting, and I was angling for the evil Maeror storyline (at first--it quickly got turned around).

Damelon wrote:I'm going to step out of character to take issue with your second point, Syl.

What is the history of Jerusalem other than one of old claims. History can matter.

I plan on giving the rest of my point of view later in character.
The thing about the Jews' historic claim to Israel (other than the fact that the opposing parties don't buy it at all) is that there has been a continuous and distinct Jewish population in Israel for 5000-ish years. It may have been greatly reduced since the diaspora, but not eliminated (they didn't all come back in the 1940s).

But the Gods have been gone entirely for a few thousand years. Besides, it'd be like saying I have a right to claim Australia in Risk just because I held it last game. Just can't work.

Just like me and Amplarx are doing now. Of course, we did not pm before we started the debate but I am sure he is enjoying it just the same.

Uh...er....I hope he is. Heh.

Duh. That's not why you can't claim Australia from one game to the next. It's because Australia is mine. Keep your meathooks off, punk.

Anyway, who's to say there haven't been worshipers of O-gon-cho there all along? She built the city, from the ground up. There were no sentient being there until she brought her worshipers there. I wonder if there wasn't always at least a small Church of the Living Light, or something, in operation.

Heh.
