Lately I've been having lots of inhibited walking dreams. For one reason or another I'll need to get somewhere quickly or catch up with someone, but I struggle to move my heavy legs, so I have to drag myself along walls and fences and things, just to be able to move at a slow walk.
This has led to a related observation that I seldom walk in dreams. If I, for instance, decide to go downstairs, I just appear down there.

Ever have a dream where you are dialing a phone and just can't seem to get the number right? And you need to really call the person on the other end? Well, I've been having it for the past week or so. I don't like the way it feels, I wake up panicked and run around the house checking on the kids and so forth.
I think something is going to happen, not sure what, but whatever it is, it's going to require some urgency...

And I believe in you
altho you never asked me too
I will remember you
and what life put you thru.

...for then I could fly away and be at rest. Sweet rest, Mom. We all love and miss you.

I love the irony of thatAuleliel wrote:I had a very strange dream in which the Russians sabotaged my teeth, and Willy Wonka was the oral surgeon who fixed them.

I woke this morning crying because my biology professor had let me know he had met a woman and was moving to India to work with the poor. I was devestated.

The loudest truth I ever heard was the softest sound.
I see it a little differently. Like you are trying to get a message through and no one is listening. Maybe you need to dial a different number. I have had a repeated dream that I did not finish school, which I did. To me it is someone telling me I have something I havent finished, a task I havent completed. Very similar to your phone dream, i think.

Last night I had several strange dreams. The one that has stayed in my memory, though, is the one about the house and the game.
There was a house, an oldish rickety wooden house, at the side of an otherwise empty country lane. Opposite was a fenced-off patch of grass and bushes that for some reason had the feel of a cemetary, though it wasn't. Those who went into the house to play the game were allowed to take one object with them, aside from their clothes. Once inside the house, this object could then be made real - that is, a life-size active version of whatever it represents. I never saw anyone take an ordinary object like a cup or a sandwich in, so I don't know what would happen to those. At one point, I took in a toy velociraptor (probably inspired by the Gen Dis topic about raptor attacks) and it became a real, life-size, living velociraptor.
Anyway, it was basically a combat game. Use your one item to eliminate other people and their items. There were other objects littering the interior of the house, but all of those remained inanimate. There was some suggestion that we could in some way score points or gain some advantage by finding certain items - I remember getting that impression when someone picked up a crown - but I don't know the details. The key to the game was bringing in the right object - but it was something of a game of chance in that respect, because there was no way of knowing how useful something would be when pitted against the items brought by other people.
It was possible to get onto the tiny enclosed lawn at the front of the house, and from there round to the large lawn at the back, but this meant less cover and was really only used by those who felt desperate. Towards the end of the dream, Mr T entered the house, and ended up retreating to the front lawn, where instead of taking the usual route round to the back, he forced his way into a corner where no-one would notice him. I don't remember what happened after that. I do remember that I occasionally had to go to the enclosure across the street for some reason, always with other people, but I don't remember why.

I've been dreaming of storms the last few nights. Violent ones. Life is about to get difficult again...

And I believe in you
altho you never asked me too
I will remember you
and what life put you thru.

I had a dream last night; that a woman, unrecognizable as anyone I know, and I were running from someone. We were leaping from rooftop to rooftop among a group of old industrial two to three story buildings. Then I woke up with my heart racing. Second dream like that in the last month.

I dreamt that I was transported to another planet by a bolt of lightning (apparently 9 lightning strikes in the same spot has enough energy to create a wormhole). On that planet I saved a king from an attempted assassination (apparently prayer is an effective antidote for poison darts), and then I observed in a classroom in one of their schools to learn about their education system, which was somewhat different from ours.

Last night I had to undertake some sort of small-scale pilgrimage to a selection of temple-like locations. Each one was connected to an element, though they weren't necessarily the traditional elements (one seemed to be darkness, for instance). In location I had to find one of the guardians, convince them (usually through a combination of actions and force of will rather than words) to grant me access to the interior, then go in and gain something which I've now forgotten. In order to get to each temple, I frequently had to surmount some obstacle or cross some landscape that was related (sometimes loosely) to the element in question. To get to the last one (the last before I woke up, not the last in the journey) I had to cross a small desert that burned my feet, because it was a temple of fire and heat. The temple that was all about darkness wasn't actually that dark, but it was isolated and buried somewhere underneath a crumbling old building.

Maybe you should lay off the videogames for a week or two...CovenantJr wrote:Last night I had to undertake some sort of small-scale pilgrimage to a selection of temple-like locations. I've gradually come to realise that some of my dreams have a persistent world. Last night I was having an inhibited walking dream, and someone spoke to me about a village nearby. I recognised the name of the place, and knew it was just one building, not a village, despite the name. And I realised that I knew this, not in the way you know things in dreams, but because I'd passed it in a previous dream.
When I got to the place, it was indeed one building in a field at the side of a T-junction on a country lane, just as I remembered. The house itself, though, had been extended since I last saw it, and then evidently fallen into disrepair. It was as though decades had passed since my last visit.
This has been happening more and more. I don't remember the previous dreams until I revisit the places, and then I wake up remembering all the dreams (or parts of them, at least). It's really strange. It's kind of like going to the Land; I revisit some of the same places, but time has changed them - more time than has passed for me.
