I walked in to Beorn's Cambridge "Just Desserts" celebration for graduating seniors at the end of the event to see this photo being taken. Poor lad hadn't the slightest idea what happened. He told me after, "One of them asked for a picture with me, and the next thing I knew..."

Very nice, Menolly. :)

Murrin, I concur with SD. 8)

lorin, get well immediately. That's an order.

Soliciting good wishes for Magickmaker, who has an interview at Starbucks tonight and another with a temp agency tomorrow (I think it's tomorrow). Gainful employment ftw!

Working on it, Ali. Summer colds suck.

Lots of good wishes for Magicmaker. Employment is the magic elixir for good summer relations.

Too bad, have you seen what they charge for plane tickets to the US?

remember the preterrorist days when you could be a courier for free airfare? I did it twice. Great deal.

Bloody freezing.

Max 12°C yesterday, and not much better today.

I had an awesome day. I got in to work and was immediately praised over the headset to the whole crew about how I am the best closer which was immediately followed by a grudging agreement from the other managers. I made a cocky statement of knowing that all along but then followed up with, "Seriously though, I owe it to the associates who rock it out for me. You guys know who you are." Then later the big wigs came. I had a chance to chat privately with George Hill and thanked him for fixing our problems with our regional print facility and he gave me all the gory details of that. Then he asked me if we needed help with anything else. I told him it would rock to have a tape binder so we could do the smaller jobs in house because we lose a lot of sales by not being able to have faster turn over. He said, "No problem." Whipped out his magical phone and in five minutes he was done and said, "You should have your new setup by Friday." I'm totally stoked. Then later Ashlee was all excited because I had gotten us a tape binder. The whole copy center is excited actually. Then on the way home I had an epiphany for a promotion in our area to get the word out and I plan to email George tomorrow about it.

Anyway, so I met the new RVP and some of the other district managers whom all descended on our store for their official meeting and that was cool. Then after they left Ashlee was walking on air because Rick, our new RVP said that out of the 60 stores he had visited in his region so far, ours was by FAR the BEST! In this conversation with Ashlee I laughed and said, "I knew it already, I don't know why you were so worried." She gave me a look like, "Are you crazy?" I smiled and turned to Daniela and said, "What did I say to you earlier about the visit, before they arrived?" She said, "You said, I'm not worried at all because this store is awesome, we really have nothing to worry about." and I said, "See, I was right." We laughed. So basically a great day. To top it off we had spectacular sales numbers so not only was the store perfect, he did not have one single criticism, we were operating at full throttle. I know I'm all gung ho but seriously. My work team knocked it out of the park and three blocks away today. It's a really good feeling.

Careful with that. Working with friends sometimes strains relationships. Particularly when both have different work ethics. I've been in the same situation a few times, and if I can help it, I'll never try to get another friend hired for the same department as me, if possible. Although I do have at least one exception I can think of right now.

It's been sunny, I got a long weekend (from Thursday to Sunday) due to Ascension Day + bridge day. It's Father's Day over here. I'm browsing tHe iNterWebS and it's just seven weeks until summer holidays. This helps getting over that week Cabernet Sauvignon/Carmenere from Chile I got in my glass. (a present, don't ask).

All in all I feel less miserable than usual. I might even start actually enjoying hating myself.

I had an irritating day at work. Just lots of stupid shit annoying me. Oh well, must have those every once in a while. Mostly it was Edward though. Need to have a talk with him again I guess. Other than that I am getting excited about the soon to be happening Elohimfest. My flight leaves in five days. Whoo HOODY!

for the trip we have to kennel Sonny. so he needed an update on his shots.

to get anything done at the vets we have to muzzle him. then i have to lay across him - making sure we doesn't take the muzzle off with his front paws or kick with his back claws. all the while making sure doesn't stand up.

we warn other people with pets to steer clear but they (for some odd reason) do not always pay attention.

Sonny hates all cats and dogs. he seems ok with horses. but he distrusts cattle since one charged the car, taking off the driver's side mirror.

to make up for the vet we took him to the beach after. he loves the beach. we walked along the water's edge. going as deep as chest high for him. he really loves the beach. :)

then after we stopped at long john silvers and got him some fired fish.

i know he shouldn't have it - but he is ten and entitled to be happy. we know we won't have him all that much longer. :( so his happiness is first. :)

we really do love him and he loves us so much right back. he is asleep at my feet as i write this. the day wiped him out. :)

Dogs get weird around vets. Fortunately Moose's vet is really good with him and basically the ritual is that I hand him Moose into his arms and Moose won't bite because he doesn't want to get dropped so he goes all submissive and then his vet snuggs him and scritches him really nice so he calms right down. Then they have a good dog love session after with yummy treats so it's quickly forgotten.

sonny starts whining as we pull into the vets. and then he emits aweird funky odor. then he spends his time waiting for the vet by scratching at the door to get out. then he scratches at and tries to pull of the muzzle. then he growls while the vet does whatever he is going to do. then when the vet leaves he breaks for the door, his leash in my hand. then he picks the wrong truck to get into. then he cries all the way home or until we give him treats.

not fun. :)

Mani knows when I pull out his collar that he's going somewhere. He gets all submissive and rolls over on his back. Normally he goes to one of three places: The vet - bad, but he hunkers down till it's over with. The kennel - o.k. he has fun unless he's there for a few days, then he doesn't eat much. Mom's place - good trip, he gets lots of attention from all Mom's neighbors.

I totally sympathize with Sonny. I feel just about the same way when I have to go to the doctor.

Really tired today. It's been a long and busy week, even tho I was off Monday. And today and next Monday are going to be crunch days for billing for a couple of big clients. Not looking forward to it. :(
