Vraith, maybe you tried like this, but just in case - in the search engine display results as: Posts, in "Return first [number] characters of posts" - all available. Lets read just everything you ever posted as plaint text, though overposters have to specify the forum and maybe some keywords not to get lost. And this doesn't work with looking for all posts from the profile - that search goes with standard settings. You have to use the general search and just type in your name in "Search for Author:".

To the topic - did I understand right that the topic of the competition is set by the one who invents one first?

May I add a side topic for competition or set it elsewhere, if I'm going to pay for it myself? To make it short and clear, I want some more wallpapers on the Chronicles - mostly interiors, possibly landscapes.

Also, should it be here or I'd better place such a thing elsewhere, with credit, certainly? Not to make a mess of this thread, and to make the wallpapers easier to find later? And maybe I'll make it longer than a week then, for more beautiful wallpapers

I'm with Aliantha on this; if you want to start your own thing, by all means start it. But this is Wayfriend's game, and it should stay that way. At the moment, we're determining exactly how to restart the game, so any of the suggestions so far could end up as the rules or as a theme.

Regarding Wallpapers? I would think you would want to appeal to the Artists in Gallery Forum (Marineguy, HueofBone, Blackhawk, Zorm and the rest). Not sure if it would be appropriate to have the contest there, or if it should be part of this one, but, you'd definitely want to recruit from that thread (Blackhawk made my Avatar for me). I would be way interested in watching that contest unfold

I have a suggestion. There is an unfinished game about 3 pages back; only Hue of Bone has submitted an entry for it. Seeing as Cag's ready to spend his WGD$, why not call him $500?

I'm good with the discussion for the new contest staying here for now. The interest might encourage Way to start posting again.

Why not keep the thred alive by not having a single host? Anyone could submit a topic as long as there wasn't a current game and they had the loot to pay the prize. Peers would vote as usual, but the topic creator would not be able to comopete. In this way, the burden of creativity would not be on one person all the time, you wouldn't have to wait for one person to save up 500 WGDs, the person who created the topic wouldn't have an unfair advantage and could still play another one soon, the game would be in more constant motion, and everyone could have a chance to submit a topic.

Actually, I think the idea of the single host is a good idea who can compile the ideas together, and keep it on track and organized as opposed to higglety pigglety postings that will quickly sputter out, as things like this do. I think the reason this thread was successful was because there was some amount of order, and was done week after week (until it ended up to whenever wayfriend had another $500), with a clear start and finish (which got pushed back occasionally). And like I said when I originally thought to resurrect this thread, it wouldn't be just one topic creator - it would be a free for all on submitting ideas, but would be boiled down to one topic per week. It kept the time commitment down for those competing, which encouraged more competition, and got some excitement up for it. If there are multiple "Win My Money" threads, the idea will go stale quickly.
But, whatever. It looks like it has already started the way you suggested anyway. My original idea was to get rid of some of my WGD and infuse the creativity that this thread inspired. Pay for entertainment, if you will. If it happens, then good. But in my opinion, if it isn't kept to one contest a week, it will quickly die on the vine.

You get banned on an hourly basis. Well, maybe that's not quite true. We're like the government; we mods are the congress, issuing bill after bill, ordering your banishment, only to get stonewalled by the President, Jay. It's not that he likes you, either; his motivation appears to be a mix of him wanting to keep us mods in line, and the fact that he's either too drunk to sign the ban, or he's too busy trying to read chapter 3 of Fatal Revenant. But trust me; justice will prevail. Your day will come.
