NOR!!!!!

Welcome back. :nanaparty:

I do not know if the other gods welcome your return but I for one am glad to see a true fiend rather than this paltry wannabe who calls himself destruction.

Although he has been quite humorous and has kept us entertained while you were gone.

:::shaking head:::

Imagenonononononono...

I will not be stuck between these two. Otherwise I'll have no peace and quiet at all.

Welcome back, m'l-rd Nor Yekith. I have made no claim to the entire continent of Immeril, and stated that my brethren are welcome to come settle the lands

But...

I have only gotten to know you from what others have said; I was too new to the Pantheon for you to take notice. I admit I fear the idea of mutation to my own lands, or the effect of mutation on neighboring lands. I also admit that fear may be due to ignorance of what all mutation can do. The only examples I am aware of have all been horrors seen outside the Star of Yekith. Will you show me beauty so my mind can be set at ease regarding you coming over to settle in Immeril? We may describe beauty differently, but I am willing to listen to why you see beauty in something I may not, and attempt to understand...

Beauty is such a subjective thing, but believe me when I say that I am capable of engineering beauty. I intend to transform the world into a paradise.

Wrong again, Asta. I just know when to acknowledge power. Power - something you are obviously unacquainted with.

In case any of the world's inhabitants have a subjective perception of beauty that is quite different from yours, is there any chance you will allow them to choose to not be transformed?

Although it's possible that you have set things up in such a way that even you could not prevent the transformation if, for any hypothetical reason, you wanted to. After all, the recent mutations my people have suffered - which are "monstrous" in the eyes of the Allfather - took place while you were away.

*nod*

ImageSo I recall from what I have been told. But, 'paradise' can be subjective as well. 'Understanding' from an informed point of view may not be quite as subjective. I am not closed minded, m'l-rd, since I am too young to have seen what the others have that has convinced them otherwise.

If you gaze towards Immeril, you will see I have not put up any device to hide my lands from the eyes of others. I hope not to have to do so in the future. I will be frank, m'l-rd. As Mistress of Light and Air, the Star of Yekith assaults me. I desire it's removal. Yet I have no right to demand or even request such be done. So, show me the beauty that it hides. Set my mind at peace regarding you coming to Immeril. I wish to understand your vision of paradise, so I may no longer fear.

The Star existed before you arrived to this world, so I should not be the one who demands its removal. It will remain whilst my enemies remain on this world. When they are obliterated, I may allow the star to rest.

ImageI can understand this, m'l-rd; others of my brethren have similar devices. None affect me the way the Star does. Yet I do not ask for you to remove it. Can you not share just a tiny portion of the paradise you claim you are building and explain it so I can understand it?

Again, for me, with understanding comes lack of fear.

My apologies if you were speaking of other "enemies." Since you have promised my destruction a few times, I'm just assuming... But what an extraordinarily interesting thing to say!!! You go to lengths to make an enemy of the god who wants nothing but peace with everyone, then keep your Star up, denying all a preview of the beauty that will one day embrace all the world, so I won't act against you? I am not the God of Psychology, but there must be a word for this mindset.

With one utterance I could ravage the flesh of your followers, turn your cities into monstrous distortions of wood and stone, and transform your rivers and forests into heaving wounds. I therefore suggest you withhold your hasty words and learn to coexist with the pantheon.

The supreme god has spoken.
Welcome back! :lol:

Maartin wiped his brow. Donnan, his brown beloved, had already searched out two candidates for the upcoming Hatching at Zandarar. Winking in and out of the black bitter cold of between to get the candidates to the weyr, inbetween helping transport evacuees off of Thellarr, had made for an exhausting day.

Yet Donnan had not heard anything from the weyr about returning. Or at least, so he claimed

Maartin…

“Is it finally time to go home?”

No. I feel another.

“Take me there.”

Walking the streets of Mai-e, the pair drew some frightened, but mostly curious stares. Ignoring them, Donnan led the way to a more rundown area of town. There, in front of several trash heaps, foraging for food, was a young female, thin, wraithlike, and apparently unfed for several days.

That’s the one. Potential Queen Rider in that one.

That one?” :::raking her over with a jaundiced eye::: “Surely you jest. She can’t have a decade of years on her.”

At that, the girl looked towards them, and in the learned speech of an ancient bloodline first bowed towards Donnan and then towards Maartin and said, “In that you are mistaken, my L-rd. I have twelve years here in Mai-e.”

“Where are your parents, your family, my child? I have a boon to ask of them.”

“Gone from a fire these past two years, My Lord, and I chose of my own free will to not seek the assistance from the clergy of our L-rd Undine. I prefer to choose my own path, instead of the one of the temple, although it is a fine life for those who want it. But, I did not.”

Donnan stepped closer, thrusting his snout toward her and sent, “Can you hear me?”

:::tittering giggle:::

“Of course, Mr. Dragon. Don’t all children in dreams? For surely this is a dream brought on by my hunger. But, it is pleasant just the same.”

What is your name, child?

::blushing:::

“Calypso”

And that of your bloodline?”

:::a heavy sigh:::

“To my knowledge, I am the last of the bloodline of Solus.”

At that, Donnan and Maartin looked at each other in shocked surprise.

“SOLUS?”

SOLUS!!!
