High Lord Mhoram in TPTP when he had just told the other Lords that they were going to ride out against Satansfist, OR, just before they rode out to meet Satansfist.

Ummmm........close enough I guess. :D Right book, right character....but actually he said it to Amatin when she was berating herself for Lord Callindrills choice after the burning of Revelwood, in the chapter called Variol-son. ;)

Your turn! :D

Um can I do one? Please? I got this great quote and I wanna see who can guess it. From a character in a book, of course.
We can still remember the golden days before Heisenberg, who showed humans the walls enclosing our predestined arguments. The lives within me find this amusing. Knowledge, you see, has no uses without purpose, but purpose is what builds enclosing walls.

Close. CLOSE. I always found it funny how Vain told Findail being in the staff of Law was great "purpose" . . . Heh, it's like being enclosed, just like the quote is talking about when it refers to purpose!

Ding ding DING! We got a winner! I'm currently getting halfway through with God Emperor of Dune. And I'm wondering if he's truly being a tyrant or trying to do something good. I mean, it's hard to read his true motives. Wish we had a Dune discussion thread about this stuff . . .

I'm really enjoying the prequels, but it's been YEARS since I read Frank's books. Other than the original, which I reread every couple of years, when we get a really serious hot spell in summer. And there's aspects of that one that I just can't figure. I couldn't discuss them without a Dissection.

But I guess I shouldn't answer your question about Leto's true motives. You'll find out soon enough. :) That is, assuming I remember correctly.

And holy cow, I saw an episode of Grim & Evil, or a spinoff, and it was a God Emperor parody!! The girl had a big ol' worm body, and her stupid brother was something like the 2,800th clone. Her weakness, or so she led them to believe, was frogs. Too funny!!

OK, let's try this one. I've quoted it elsewhere a couple times. :)

That would be Findail when he tells the tale of the Appointed abourd Starfares Gem just before they arrive at the Isle of the One Tree.

Hehe "some was lost" can be ok ... if you're talking about something like, for instance, sand.

But I have no idea who said it. It may have been someone talking about treasures in the Hall Of Gifts, or maybe the lore learnt.
Do you think I like being this dangerous?
