!יְהִ֣י אֹ֑ור וַֽיְהִי־ אֹֽור
Yehi ovr vayhi-ovr!
Let there be Light, and there was Light!

Today in History - is when it all began...
The 1st day of creation, on which G-d created existence, time, matter, darkness and light, was the 25th of Elul. (Rosh Hashanah, on which we mark "the beginning of Your works", is actually the 6th day of creation, on which the world attained the potential for the realization of its purpose, with the creation of the first man and woman, Adam and Eve. Rosh Hashanah is therefore the day from which the Jewish calendar begins to count the years of history; the 1st day of creation thus occurred on the 25th of Elul of what is termed -1 from creation.

Gut shabbes, MsMary.
Enjoy your chometz this weekend!

Both the chometz and the kitniyot...
The discipline of the coming week challenges us (especially those whose minhag places fences within fences within fences)...but will be dealt with.

Lots of chametz, yes.
I would eat kitniyot, but my hubby doesn't.
However, there will be quinoa for Pesach.

I bought a cup of quinoa to try at some point this Pesach. Do you have a favorite way of preparing it? I've never had it before. I'm thinking of making a quinoa tabbouleh for lunch one of the days, but am definitely open to other suggestions.

I love tapioca pudding...
