Good to know. I need to find out from CovJr what his budget is before I officially book anything but that package deal was pretty cheap. I'll let you know what final arrangements I make after I talk to Cov.

*bouncing up and down*

Due to some long-awaited but not expected funds showing up (the IRS refund, the USPS applying a raise to Hyperception's pay retroactive for 700 hours, and three grant checks from UF that Hyperception never received) this week, Denver is possibly once more on the table for discussion here. Nothing definite yet, but positive energy that it happens getting sent this way woudn't hurt.

aliantha wrote:I just checked Mapquest too, Jenn. 40th & Quebec is the other side of town from Cag's (and it's closer to the airport than to downtown, those filthy liars! ). You could try searching for hotels in Lakewood or Wheat Ridge and see what you come up with. That will get you on the right side of town, at least.

Does that make sense, Cag?
Yup, absolutely! Those are the best and closest places. Lakewood is pretty big though, although Wheat Ridge isn't. Edgewater would be another, but I don't think there are many hotels/motels around.

And Menolly, I've got my fingers crossed for ya....here's hoping it works out!

Hey everyone, just to give an update, I'm still trying like hell to make the San Francisco weekend, I just have a few more things to work out. Is the information on the initial post on page 1 of this thread still accurate?

...come to Denver instead, dlb... ;)

Yay, Menolly! Fingers crossed and good vibes headed toward Florida...

So I guess I'll be picking up those candy bars for MagickMaker since she's not coming (because she'd *better* be working this summer to pay for insurance on her car...). Hmm, I wonder what the courier's payment should be?

Is there still space in the tent if I come ali?
I might have other arrangements, but I doubt that will come through.

Of course! So far the only other taker is danlo. And I know for a fact that you're a better cook.... ;)

I dunno about that. He did himself proud on the things he prepared while I stayed with him, Lady Tam, and Elora.

Camp cooking's a whole different creature. I've used camp stoves, but if we're doing campfire cooking, it will be trial and error for me mostly. Although if we put a grate over it to use it as a grill, I'll be OK.

(Phew!)

Well, I won't have my sure-fire firestarter (MagickMaker) along. So I'm planning to bring a backpacking stove. But there's probably a grill at the campsite -- I'm no expert with charcoal but I'm sure we can whip something up.

Dunno what the rules are for fires on the ground at the campsite; if there's a fire ring, we're all set. But we'll have to see...

I think Danlo might have some 'splainin to do if he was sharing tents... 8O ;) I don't think Lady Tam would be very happy with that arrangement.

I bet it would be cool, Jenn. Lady Tam has met both ali and me. She knows we're harmless, right ali?

Well...I know my brats work on charcoal, and there's always chicken, burgers and dogs. But that will get expensive, at least for the budget I expect to have for food...

There's no courier's fee. Its a volunteer service, I thought you knew that. Since you won't let me come...
aliantha wrote:Well, I won't have my sure-fire firestarter (MagickMaker) along.
I could always fix that little problem for you by coming along...
Revan wrote:Cadbury's come from England. I love boost's too. If I do come along, I'll bring you a load. :)
I never say no to candy!

Do it! The larger the fest, the better. I can try to bully your mother into allowing it.
