[ooc]At a distance of 15ft, Charn attempts to close the entangling 10ft that separates him from melee reach and, if his turn still allows, bash the plant with a mighty mace blow (& hopefully not hit Roark!)[/ooc]

Irian's turn

by Irian
Shifting her crossbow into her right hand and muttering, "Ehlenestra, guide me true!", Irian stares intently at the plant with her comrades around it. Slowly pointing her left index finger at it, she lines her site along her finger, straight at the plant. Chanting arcane words of power, she releases a missile dart of magical energy towards it!
Quickly reaching back into her quiver, she loads a bolt into her crossbow, and awaits to see the effect of her magical dart on the plant.

The magic missile launches from Irian's fingers and slams into the plant dealing 5 damage. The plant explodes in a shower of leaves and branches!
[combat is over and we're now out of initiative order. You can do what you like again now.]

Dropping her crossbow, Irian rushes over to Xavier, and checks to see if he is stirring.

Vargon ran near Xavier
"Brother Charn, please come here and take a look to Xavier, i fear he could be poisoned!"
Then he looked to Irian "milady how are you? are you wunded?"

Smiling at her large protector, Irian replied, "I am fine. I was never close enough to be in harm's way." Looking wide eyed at the entire group, she went on, "You all were wonderful!
"But you," she said, lowering her voice and turning directly to Vargon, "you have shown me the wisdom of my father in retaining you to watch over me." And she leaned in and gave him the faintest of kisses on his brow. Then collapsed in a heap of giggles from relief, not to mention the look of wonder that took over Vargon's features...

(OOC - thanks for doing my turns Nathan. I've been crazy busy at work all day long and will be the same tomorrow.
OOC - Do I have any damage? I would have used my escape artist skill. Would that have worked?)
"Good work, Irian!"

Charn approaches Xavier, assessing for wounds, and checking to see if and how he has been harmed.
[ooc]If he appears unconscious but unharmed, he will attempt to awaken him.
If he appears only slightly wounded, Heal skill check to revive him.
If he appears more significantly wounded, Charn will cast Lvl1 CLW.[/ooc]

"Praise Pelor!" Charn drops his sun symbol to rest against his chest once more, then helps Xavier off the forest floor.
"There be a lesson to learn. Remember well its features, my friends," he kicks the broken remains, "lest we be mired in a thicket of these ruinous bushes!"
"Roark, be you hale enough to continue? The grace of Pelor be plenty, and his servant be willing to aid, but I be not boundless in my energies..." Charn looks up at Roark.

Irian grinned towards Xavier.
"Welcome back," she said, and winked.

"My thanks friends," the rogue said, shaking his head to make sure it was still attached. "I owe you one Brother Charn. Damn plants...I snuck right into the middle of them before they started to move, and I realised that something was wrong. That'll teach me for splitting off from the group huh?" He smiled ruefully.
"Still, no permanent damage done." Let's be getting on to Weaseltown."
Picking up his shortbow, he prepared to head down the trail with the others.

Is there anything anyone wants to do before continuing on to Weaselville?

[ooc]I was debating suggesting everyone search the area, wondering if the plants somehow prevented shipments from getting through. But the smith did not say all shipments stopped, only that his silver has not been on them. And I am unsure what type of check would cover a quick general search.[/ooc]

Vargon looked to Irian, he seemed to be embarrassed by the kiss of Irian.
"milady... I... I... ehm... it's just my duty... anyway... "
he shoke his head...
"Well done, milady now i know that you can cover my back if i need it"
he took her hand in his hand looking in her eyes.
"Xavier, thanks to Pelor you are alive! i thought you were lost for a moment!"
He smiled to him.
"now i think the plant doesn't have eny equipment, but if someone was killed by it could left something usable..."
He stepped near the plant and started to search the body... [ooc] i think a search check is needed[/ooc]

Vargon searches the area and comes across a couple of badly decayed corpses. Once of them is wearing some undamaged studded leather armour.

"They be victims of the strangling plants!" Charn grabs his sun symbol, and intones, "Pelor guard these souls, till celestial homes be found for them. Luminax solaris vettis, irae braxis mord. Solaris sempre. Solaris ex."
"Now that their souls be invited to the upper plane, there be any other in need of this armour?"

Irian shakes her head. "Not I, thank you."
She wanders to the other side of the plants from Vargon and commences searching as well. [ooc] search check please[/ooc]

[ooc] Charn looks for any personal items the bodies may have borne, in case surviving family is found in Weaselville.[/ooc] "If there be families of these two in Weaselville, it be right to return signets, crests, or family objects. This armour, however" he starts to remove the studded armour from the corpse, "may prove useful against a bloodthirsty tiger, if it fits."
He gasps and wrinkles his nose, "Mayhap an incense bath is needed, else the tiger think we be already dead!"
