Wayfriend, when did you stop loving me? I thought we was pals, I thought we had something together. Please, baby, reconsider our love. It meant so much to me.... 8)

Bump.

Should I declare a winner now? Where is everyone?!?! This one's eeeeeeasy.

There's still a chance for someone to win -- there are three that have not been correctly answered, and three more that can be made more specific. Similarly, there's a chance for anyone who's already entered to improve their score and get ahead of someone else.

Answers:

1: Lord Hyrim, Dolph Ubikwe, The Tor.
A: Fat Persons Of Authority.
W: Brother Charn.
*: I'll give him "politician" as "person of authority".

2: the ford of the Llurallin, the lurker of the Sarangrave, the Isle of the One Tree
A: Things that sunk under the water.
W: -
*: Everyone had "rise" instead of "sink". Did the Isle ever rise out of the water?

3: Revelstone, Foul's Creche, Mount Thunder
A: Places where Foul Lived.
W: Brother Charn.
*: On the money.

4: Starfare's Gem, Revelstone, the Giantway
A: Things that Giant's made.
W: Brother Charn.
*: The Giantway isn't made of stone.

5: Santonin na-Mhoram-in, Korik, Drool Rockworm
A: People who had some Illearth Stone.
W: dlbpharmd.
*: getting there before BC.

6: Kalina, Lord Trevor, Brow Gnarlfist
A: Parents.
W: Brother Charn.
*: Kalina was Sunder's mom, Trevor and Loerya had children, and Brow was the First's dad.

7: Clangor, Dura Fairflank, Drinny
A: Mounts
W: Brother Charn.
*: I believe they were all ridden into battle. But Covenant never rode Drinny. And Harn and Hollian always rode Clangor.

8: knife, triangle, river
A: Things that have been unusually hot.
W: -
*: Marid's hot knife, the banefire's master rukh (triangle), the "a moiling red river of molten stone" that is Hotash Slay. (A toughie.)

9: tissue, landslide, hood
A: things used to kill things.
W: -
*: Linden's mother was killed with tissues, Myrha was killed by a landslide, Kasreyn's croyel was killed by Findail who took the form of a hood. (Another toughie.)

10: beard, forest, midmast
A: things that are cut
W: Brother Charn.
*: impressive! I thought this was my bestest/toughiest one.

Yes, the answers all seem so obvious now, don't they? :)

And the winner is ...
Spoiler
Brother Charn.

By points, obviously. Thanks for thinking so hard about my puzzles, DW.

Most excellent, Brother Charn! (I would have totally sucked.)

I'm just posting here gratuitously to help Wayfriend accumulate more WGDs for him to give away. :P

Thank you for helping to make the Watch even more "sticky" for all of us, WF!!

Well, I have another 500, so here goes.

This Week's Contest

Saltheart Foamfollower famously said, "Say no more - with one word you will make me weep." Your task shall be to make me weep with one sentence.

Post a single-sentence quote from the First or Second Chronicles that brings a tear to the eye.

The winner will be be the contestant whose entry is judged to refer the soggiest passage, and whose chosen sentence best evokes that passage.

Audience: post in this thread to show which entry you think deserves to win! The judge pays attention to these things.

Excellent one, dlb.

He did not hear Lena arise, gather the shreds of her clothing, speak, or climb away out of the shattered ravine.
I'd have done this, but it requires both sentences:
"She went to spend the night with a friend. She only called out her message as she passed our home."

"She didn't have anything left except her smile."

Oh.
You want it from the Chronicles........

Reaching out to them as if they were all one, as if they were only Foamfollower in multiform guise, Covenant took them into his embrace, and wept white fire.
