Have the Mighty Heroes been mentioned? Baby Man, Cookoo Man, Tornado Man, Strong Man... I think those are their names, but I think I might be forgetting one or two.

Quasar - strong stories and cool art, when Greg Capullo drew him anyway.
I liked Scud The Disposable Assassin, but it was always difficult to find in comic shops. Very interesting idea.

Yeah, that whole Maelstrom story in Quasar was pretty cool, imo. And Mak's quest for speed.

Mark Gruenwald. I've been trying all day to remember that name. He wrote some (imo) rather good Captain America stories as well as Quasar, and I think he also wrote the Squadron Supreme limited series.
Does Cerebus count as a superhero? Only 2 issues to go.

I'd go with:
1) Dr. Manhatten (film)
2) Ozymandias (film)
3) Iron Man (comic)
4) Batman

The teacher in me says: Plusman. Check him out: mathforum.org/library/view/68454.html.
For comedy: Orgazmo!
But seriously, my faves would have to be: Silver Surfer, Optimus Prime, The Question (okay, so no superpowers, but...), The Atom, Batman.

Real Name
Nick Nolan

Nolan was the Police Commissioner, but he also fought crime as the Clown. While he had no superpowers he stopped villains such as Harry Judd, Moore, Repulsive Mike, Stinky Jones, and Dopey.

Swing Sisson
Swing Sisson was a big band leader and two-fisted detective. He was aided by his band members Bonnie Baxter, the singer, and Toby Tucker, the saxophonist.

Bonnie Baxter should have been the bassist. Toby Tucker, the trombonist. Swing Sisson, the singer/saxophonist. Dirk Diggler, the drummer. Gus Grissom, guitarist. Jeez, comics from the 40's missed all kinds of opportunities.

Mine is batman. No doubt whatsoever. Two identities, both of them amazing. One is a regular citizen who everyone admires, but finds something of a boor. The other is a hero of justice who, when necessary, acts the villain in order to create happiness and justice for Gotham.
But your choices are good too!

Holy crap. He predates Tetsujin, who AFAIK is the oldest Japanese robot in japanese comics/anime.
America, you are amazing. The birthplace of giant robots! (AFAIK) As for the collosus, I mean, that goes back centuries, no, millenia, right?
