No contest, Michael Bolton would not be good, you have my sympathies

Great hair though

lol, my name's not Michael Bolton. I was making a reference to the guy from the movie Office Space (hilarious movie... if you haven't seen it, you should).

I met a guy today named John Hinckley, btw.

Hi all,

I'm pretty new here. I don't know whether these have been suggested yet, but I was thinking Dennis Quaid for TC, and maybe Jodie Foster for Linden Avery. If you have seen some of Quaid's recent work--for instance, in Far From Heaven--I think that brooding, pent-up intensity of his could really work. Actually, speaking of Far From Heaven, what about Julianne Moore for Avery?

both actresses too old IMHO (Linden was in her early thirties AFAICR)
and isn't Dennis Quaid a little too cute for TC?

I alway thought that Gibbon would look alot like Patrick Stewart (just picture him squinting with red eyes......"Are you not evil?")

Let's keep in mind that Linden has golden wheat colored hair so no brunettes. I can not think of a single one though I would love to see Jennifer Connely with a dishwater blonde hairstyle.

Kiefer Sutherland as Pitchwife maybe.

My choice for Bannor:

Tommy Lee Jones!!!

by Brinn
Mark Dacascos who played Mani in "The Brotherhood of the Wolf" would be the perfect Bannor. He has the proper features and can do stoic no problem. Besides he's a legit martial artist and could pull of the physicality required of the role. Check out his website here www.dacascos.com

Chow Yun Fat as Bannor!

Godd call Amani! Bannor is the elder statesman of the Haruchai and Chow yun would fit the bill. Make Mark Dacascos Brinn, Ceer, Cail or Hergrom.

My main problem with Chow Yun Fat as Bannor is that I generally picture the Haruchai as leaner--but that could just be me. I like the guy from Brotherhood of the Wolf, though. Good idea!

And here is a passing thought for some of the smaller roles, though some of these names may be too big and wouldn't accept:

Claire Danes as Lena--though I am not sure how old she is now. I am thinking of her in Romeo and Juliet (practically the only actor/actress in that movie besides Pete Postlethwaite who could pull off the lines with any success) and in Les Miserables

Jeremy Northam as Rire Grist of the Bhrathair--I think he could be appropriately unctuous and ambitious and still carry some dignity

And I still stand by Dennis Quaid as a possible TC--he's weathered enough over the years to shed the pretty boy look (though I do concede that Daniel Day-Lewis might also do well in the role)

Another thought: Gabriele Byrne as Mhoram--he might have the right combination of gentleness and danger to pull it off

And how about Kate Winslet as High Lord Elena? Again, I am not sure how old she is now--maybe in a few years.

I always thought Kate Winslet as Elena would be good, too.

I like all ur choices 4 Elena, as long as Ellen Degeneres or Roseanne don't play her...I have no prob at all... :D

Have I mentioned Helena Bonham Carter for Elena yet?

Great suggestion Syl, she would be able to pull off that "otherness of sight" look that Elena gets.

The best actor I can think of for Covenant (sorry, can't say TC anymore - reminds me too much of Top Cat, the indisputable leader of the gang) would be....

Jim Caviezel

He's in The Thin Red Line, Freqency and Angel Eyes.

I think he is the perfect age (35) to be able to play Cov a few years older and younger, has the right look: not traditionally handsome, but can look good when he needs to; has a slightly ragged, ravaged appearance (or can affect one) and can play confused and angry very well.

Since seeing Die Another Day, I thought Rosamund Pike would make a good Elena. Despite being nearly 40, I think Elena is only supposed to look not a great many years older than Lena when Cov first met her (hence all the psychological torment), so her youth wouldn't be a problem.

I'll add some more when I can think of them.

:)

Jim Caviezel is a distinct possibility--I remember, kinda, thinking about him 4 Top Cat ( :D ) while watching Angel Eyes...

I've been thinking about this for quite a while. Even suggested to Steven Spielberg but, alas, was told he gets too many ideas.
I see:

Covenant: Willem DaFoe

Linden: Sigourney Weaver

Foamfollower: Dude who played Jaws in James Bond (if he can talk, have no clue)

Lord-Mhoram: Sean Connery

voice of Foul: James Earl Jones (who else?)

Hile Troy: Kevin Costner

Elena: Rebecca DeMornay or the gal in Black Widow (Theresa Russell)

Bannor: Someone quiet but with steely eyes, Steven Seagal?

Yea or nay??

welcome weehawk--it was Richard Kiel who played "Jaws" in the Bond flicks, and no he really can't act...This is just my own lil' opinion, so please bcome a member and don't take this personally, but I completely disagree w/all ur choices, xcept maby JEJ as voice of LF... :?
