Just making sure it worked right. I haven't logged in to voice yet - I should on my horde guild to test it, but now I've run out of USB ports. Somewhere, I have an attachment that has extra slots.Sorus wrote:What were you figuring out, and did it work?

You can test it with me if you want - I personally miss Vent/party chat and would like to get everyone on it, though some are against the idea.

why do we need vent if we can just talk on a wow channel?
i'm not being snotty, that's a real question.
is vent an addon? is it gonna gunk up my screen?
is it easier to use than the wow voice?

Vent is a third-party chat client, so it will not gunk up your screen.
Ease of use is about the same as party chat - very easy.
Advantages over party chat include an ability to make a number of different rooms, and the ability to chat with people who aren't grouped with you.

Patch day today.
Things to note -
- Anyone can ride a Mechanostrider now!
- Volley nerf
- DK nerfs (to fix the DW frost/unholy dps build that does up to 7k dps)
- DK buffs (base tanking mitigation up, blood tanking buffed)
- Enchanting mats will be better (less dust, more shards)
- Hodir rep easier (relic of ulduar turn in)
- Kysen gaining ~2k health
- Titanium transmute on 20 hour cooldown with reduced mats
- Ebonweave tailoring spot moved
- Other stuff I've forgotten

On vent: I currently have no plans to be sat talking to my computer at 1am with my parents in the next room. Maybe after I move out I'll consider it.

i am voice enabled. headphones have mic on them and i work fine with wow voice so i would imagine that i will work with vent too. just let me know when we're ready to go vent. i'm happy to do so.

Looks like no WoW for me tonight! Patch download only happens tomorrow for us here so I have to wait until then.
On the plus side my expansion game arried today...so about to try and install it! I do hope it doesn't give me any hassles!

Did you ever manage to get your account upgraded? I'm not certain on it, but I think if your account is not activated for WotLK it won't let you play after installing the expansion.Chrysalis wrote:Looks like no WoW for me tonight! If not, you tried the online upgrade? (You'd be looking for a button/link in this area on the account management page.)

Alas the expansion keeps giving me an error.
I found a copy of the WOTLK (uk version) for a decent price and when trying to download it refused. I also ordered the US code so once its downloaded I can upgrade.
Maybe its because of patch day its not working?
I figured as it doesn't look like I would be able to log in tonight I should upgrade but now I am stuck!

I already have far too much rune cloth! Your mount collection is growing I see - how all we need to do is convince the Baron to give up his!
*shakes fist at patch day* yet to be honest...not quite sure if that would really affect the downloading...I just know I am going to be beyond frustrated if this won't work!

Northrend is constantly crashing on my server as well. On a different note though, I hatched my egg from Revered Oracles reputation and got a baby cobra. It goes well with my cobra pet.
