Sorry, I never noticed any rules on the site; I only paid attention to WF's directions. Seeing as how I wasn't making an avatar to use in whatever game that site was playing, I doubt they care that I used the pic. Still, I'm known for disregarding the rules, so I guess it's fitting. All that being said, I'd have voted for an avatar of Aubrey Hepburn, and given 500 wgd$ to the maker of said avatar, regardless of whether he/she won the actual competition.

I vote for Ananda.

My vote. It just cracks me up. And she's prettier than I would have originally thought.

And the winner is ...
Spoiler
lorin

Her interpretation of Infelice was well done, and also the crowd favorite. And unlike the runner-up, it's not a cheap shot. :P This is lorin's first nomination in Win Wayfriend's Money, and her first prize.

Congrats! I also liked the foam follower one, too. It gave the sense that it was a giant.

Well, I have another 500, so here goes.

This Week's Contest

Stephen R. Donaldson isn't afraid to write tough and gritty adventure stories. Characters frequently die.

But someone has to clean up the mess. This contest is a tribute to those unsung undertakers of the Land, of Mordant, and of Human Space.

Contestants need to write an epitaph for a character in a Donaldson story.

Now ... I could have ended it right there. I wanted to have a writing contest this week. But then I saw this online, and I just had to make it part of the contest.

Tombstone Generator

Yes, friends, if you google around, the web is filled with online tombstone generators. Hundreds of them. Frankly, now I'm a little freaked.

So, using the tombstone generator in the link above, or any other one that catches your fancy, etch the epitaph that you have written onto a tombstone, and then post the result here.

For example:

See? It's still a writing contest. Just one with pizazz.

Entries will be judged on creativity, epitaphiness, poetic justice, and whether it brings a tear to our eyes.

As usual, audience participation is encouraged, necessary, and appreciated.

does it have to be a dead character or can we kill him/her/it?

But yes, you have already donated, thanks!

Cool contest idea, but maybe we shouldn't use characters that may or may not have died in Against All Things Ending, as Jay undoubtedly still hasn't finished reading it.
