Oooh. Currently doing a reread. Mostly so I can get all of Luci's references. (No, not really.) Up to book 8 now.

Our closing day is April 3rd!!!
Will be moving to a far west suburb of Chicago [about 50 miles west from downtown Chicago] but I work only about 25 miles from new location.
So proud that I can make this big step in my life!!
That's awesome. Congrats!

I feel mildly nauseated reading Cags post

(not really!)
Congrats Sammy, that would be a great feeling.
Sorus, a
RE-read of Malazan just makes me want to lie down
I've been in my own business since 2010, and today our first ever employee is leaving. I take that as a sign we're doing well by them

I just hope the floodgates don't open now, and everyone starts leaving!

I think this is only the third time I've done a full reread in order.
Gardens of the Moon really does get better every time.

Third time for Malazan?

Yeah, for the original 10 in order. Not counting ancillary or Esslemont stuff. (I haven't even read all of Esslemont's yet. Will probably get around to them eventually, but they just don't grab me the way Erikson's do.)

Wow, that elevates your level of craziness to Fist and Faith (and perhaps lucimay too)

I will take that as a compliment, but there's no way my knowledge level is equal to theirs.

It was intended as a compliment

- I'm sure your knowledge must be approaching theirs. Fist hasn't re-read the entire series (not that it's a competition!)

I used to have a bear-trap memory - to the point where I could quote stuff at length after only seeing/reading it once. I don't know when that started to change, and that bothers me a bit. My memory isn't bad now, but it's nothing like it used to be.

I will not mention how many times I've re-read all the Malazan books.
What a week...
Got to work on Wednesday, to find the geyser had burst, and the office was a couple inches deep in water.
We got off light though...the guys downstairs had major damage. Still it messed up our day, and rolling black-outs continue as the power utility attempts to meet demand with it's unmaintained and gutted by corruption over the last 10 years grid.
On the plus side...finally got my home PC working and installed etc. Benchmarked Rome II Total War at an average of 175 fps.

Whooot whooot well done on the computer and .. what is that? Your operating speed? LOL
THAT sounds sucky. Did they have to strip the office?
No wonder youve been MIA .. we were just about to send out a scouting party

Frames per second.
And luckily, no, although a lot of cleaning up has to happen.

Ugh. I was working in the dark most of the week because there was a power fault in the motion detector for our lighting system, and no manual switch. They finally fixed it yesterday (after I managed to set a pallet down on my foot; I really need to invest in a good pair of steel-toe boots).
My mantra for most of the week was
at least it isn't sewage/water coming out of the walls. Or ceiling.

Only you could flip a painful and irritating experience into a ... well it could be worse ... story.
I like that .. tbh .. but

ouch.. how the foot?
Yes Im surprised they dont require steel toed boots if you work with pallets and such

Yeah, it could be worse has basically been my mantra for the last 10 years or so.
Not necessarily a good thing because it makes me afraid to take any sort of risk that might lead to things being better.

As many as the rest of us put together?
And that's a disgusting level of FPS. I am envious. Usually between 30-60 in WoW.
