Not necessarily a good thing because it makes me afraid to take any sort of risk that might lead to things being better.
Honestly, I'm the same way. I usually have to have someone push me out of a bad situation, but once you do, and you actually find a good place, it makes it all so much worth it.

Until that job sours and you've got to flee again.

Feel pretty good for the most part, just madly busy, so being a bit scarce lately. :D

Hey Sarge, thats great! I never had a very close relationship with my Grandparents (both of my parents are kinda black sheep) but I would have welcomed it at any time when I was younger! Really hope that works out.

Whats the band?

Got to work on Wednesday, to find the geyser had burst, and the office was a couple inches deep in water.
Ugh. I was working in the dark most of the week because there was a power fault in the motion detector for our lighting system, and no manual switch. They finally fixed it yesterday (after I managed to set a pallet down on my foot; I really need to invest in a good pair of steel-toe boots).

My mantra for most of the week was at least it isn't sewage/water coming out of the walls. Or ceiling.
You guys made me think of Brazil... I gotta add that to my movie list to show my fiance, she's got little movie experience.

Working on some handpies for a potluck at my babe's work. Anyone else do this at their job?

I like baking tho, so I'm feeling pretty good. Aced a job interview, so I'm hoping I hear back soon!

Haha, yeah, that's pretty much what it looked like. :D

Good luck with the job. And no, we don't do that at work. :D

Anyway, Friday, hooray. And it's my birthday on Wed, which we get off, so I have taken off Monday and Tuesday for an extra long weekend. :D

Congrats balon! Happy birthday Av!

I feel a tad burnt out - I think I need a holiday before I break someone or something :D (which I guess is why I'm here on KW instead of working - speaking of which, I should do some I suppose...)

Burnt out is no fun ... maybe less work, more fun is what you need right now. Go for a walk, sleep, eat, have a chillaxing bath, get a massage .. anything that works for you.

Or when you do finally get a holiday... your body will say .. finally this fkcr has stopped, time to let that flu virus reek havoc ... and keep him down.

I find I'm missing having a small, warm, furry body to snuggle. I get some relief when reading the kittehs thread. Even though I haven't had a dog in a long time, perhaps I'll find the same comfort reading about Watchers pups.

So...

How 'bout them puppers?

I talked to a friend yesterday, we chatted about stuff... an amazing man with incredible stories about saving children from street life and even murder... this morning, he died. Completely unexpected. He was 45.

I'm also friends with his wife. She was my assistant when I taught Kindergarten. We attended their wedding ten years ago next week. They have 3 children.

I am still in shock about it. And of course, he was one of the best, most kind, compassionate, patient, godly people on the planet. Too good for this world, I guess.

The number of children, mainly street boys, whose lives he touched. Some people think about rescuing orphans, others take part in it, for Joseph it was his life and breath. And the Spirit guided him into some crazy situations so he could literally save lives. In one case, he arrived just as a machete went up in the air and was able to stop them from killing a little boy who was accused of witchcraft. He cared for one boy who had had a tire put round his neck and lit on fire. He needed more than a dozen surgeries in order to be able to eat and speak normally. The last I heard of this kid, he had grown up and was now a "vulcanizer" (had a business repairing and mounting tires), and lived in his own rented flat. (The scarring is such that his shoulders and neck flow into his head, like a tree trunk.) Joseph was PROUD of these kids every time they overcame obstacles. He spoke of them with the same enthusiasm as he did his own 3 children, of whom he was also a serious fan.

You just don't know how many seconds you have here, and then you're gone.

TL;DR: Lost a friend today unexpectedly.

Its inconceivable how such amazing human lives are cut prematurely short.

A tragedy indeed.

I feel the planet needs more of his kind of goodness and selflessness.

Cherish your memories .. and his legacy of example ♥️ and compassion ♥️

Sad news Deer. :(

Anyway, I'm back. No, didn't do anything special, tried to avoid leaving the house entirely in fact and mostly managed. :D

Of course, the down-side of taking time off work is catching up again when you get back...

Happy belated birthday, Av. Has it really been a year? Where did it go?

Oh. My. Stars.

Several years ago, I visited my sister when I was at the lowest weight I achieved doing Atkins. She gave me a couple of size 14 outfits which didn't fit me, but Sue-Ellen was confident I would get there eventually.

I stopped doing Atkins, and the weight crept back up.

I'm now below that lowest weight I attained on Atkins, but I haven't really noticed my size 16s getting baggy on me. Even so, I decided to try on one of the sets.

It fits! Huzzah!

Now, I blatantly admit that the tummy tuck I had for my reconstructive FLAP surgery didn't hurt me fitting in to them. But, I'm excited anyway!

70 more pounds to go for my ultimate goal, but if I achieve another 60 pound loss, I'll be ecstatic.
