It's embarrassing.
It's just something Mom's do...humility is a good virtue to have, but sometimes its ok to let mom enjoy the success of her son, maybe someday you'll have the pleasure to embarrass your own kids by telling people how awesome they are.

Moms are required, upon their progeny's attainment of puberty, to annoy and/or embarrass said progeny at least once each day.
