Next Thursday at 5:30 PM server - 25-person Naxx IF we can get enough people.

Mainly need DPS. Tanks are covered. Might be room for a healer or two.

Vent is required. Microphones recommended but not required.

This is basically a test to see if we can get enough people together. If we can, it should go well.

If there is another time that works for everyone, modifications may be possible, though that is not up to me.

I will be pestering people here, in guild chat, on vent, and anywhere else I might be able to find you, so if you want to go please tell me as soon as possible so I can get a formal invite sent to you for headcount purposes.

Got four names so far.

Anyone else?

As I said before, don't worry if you don't know the fights.

We have enough people who do know the fights, and they are patient and used to having inexperienced folks along for the ride.

Hell, they put up with me dying on the Safety Dance five weeks in a row.

Some of the fights are easy, basic tank and spank. Some of the fights are fairly complex, and we do factor in a wipe or two when people are learning.

25 is in many ways easier than 10, as in 10 a typical group is 3 healers, 2 tanks, and 5 DPS. You can have a lot more DPS in 25.

I don't think it's going to happen anyway, not enough interest. :?

Not enough interest this week, or the time didn't work for folks.

After the patch we will probably be moving progression to Tuesday, and doing Naxx on Saturday afternoons. Lot of stuff still in the planning stage, but hopefully that time will work for more people.

Okay, maybe not quite "live", but it's installable. :P
Damned interminable maintenance.

I'm liking the changes so far, though a bit disappointed in the 'buff' to beastmaster. It's still running about 1/3 behind SV in DPS.

Is the gap really that big? Sounds as bad a Frost mages (1k dps below fire/arcane/frostfire).

I'm wondering about what's going to happen to WG PuGs with the addition of Emalon to VoA. Word is he's tight on dps (adds that heal up to full then have to be killed within about 15 seconds before they enrage, iirc), won't be killable by the usual Archavon groups.

Could be interesting. A few people from AD were in a VoA PuG yesterday, and reported that the group cleared the trash before Emalon, then broke up afraid to even attempt the boss fight.

Archavon was maybe a little too easy, but word is you need to be geared for Ulduar to kill Emalon.

And yeah, they barely changed beastmaster. A few of us went up against the heroic training dummy in IF yesterday; I was doing about 1850 in beastmaster and 2600 in SV. Other SV hunter was also around 2600, and the highest beastmaster was around 2000.

My damage didn't go down much with the explosive shot nerf (black arrow is nice), and once someone starts making the new glyphs it should actually go up a bit.

It will be nice to have it as a spec for soloing, as it is useful to have a pet that can actually tank.. but I'd hoped to be able to use it in raids, and at this time I can't think of a single fight where it would give an advantage. :?

And with the new spirit beast, hopefully less people will be running around with Loque. :P

Yes, I want the new one, and while I did take a trip over his known spawning areas in ZD yesterday, I don't know what I would have done if I'd seen him. Probably just been annoyed, since I wouldn't have killed him and I don't have a free stable slot.

I hadn't heard there was a new spirit beast.

As for Amalon, refreshed myself of some of the details. Add resets to full and grows larger, you have 24 seconds to kill that one before it overloads and does massive AoE. They respawn once killed/overloaded until Amalon is dead. Apparently on 10 man it should take 6 dps doing a little over 2k to kill thme in time, so not all that bad with a good group. The tricky part is making sure the dps switch fast.
New bosses and trash hit much harder in T8 than they have in T7, Amalon himself does Loken's lightning nova, and chain lightning jumping to about 12k on the third target.

As for Ulduar-ready gear, I'm hoping the progression path works the way it should, and Ulduar-10 (as well as Amalon-10) is intended for people in 200 gear (with some 213s from KT/Maly), which is Naxx-10 level but also Heroic-level. I figure a 10-man progression path won't be too disadvantaged as far as the time it takes to be Ulduar-ready goes. The fact that most 10-man raiders seem to manage to get into at least a few 25-man runs now and then helps too.

Sounds like it would take some practice, and probably not something you would want to PuG until groups have a bit of experience.

Gondria, the new spirit beast. Level 77 rare elite in Zul'Drak. MMO Champion had some pictures of him a couple of months ago, and I'd been looking for news about whether or not he would be tameable. It's been confirmed that he can be tamed.

The add kill timer is very unforgiving. The overload happens when the add is at 250% damage done, and hits the entire raid - one exploded add wipes the raid. The damage increase (10% every 2 seconds after the overcharge starts) also means the faster the kill, the less strain on the add-tank.
Definately not something to PuG blindly.

that spirit beast shall be mine, i do so swear. i shall fight with blue until i have tamed yon spirit kitty. 8) I WILL NOT get too attached to blue. :shifty:

Good luck!

This might be a good time to start looking, as his existence is not common knowledge yet. I've been keeping an eye on the Who list for ZD, and haven't noticed particularly high numbers of hunters.

On the other hand, the hardcore folks who do know about him will be in full camp-mode.

I highly recommend writing a tracking macro and memorizing his potential spawn locations.

i don't know how to write a tracking macro nor do i know his spawning locations. :(
