If anyone needs me to do their resume I will be glad to do it for you. I do about 15 a week for my clients and, if I say so myself, I do an awesome job. I guess I finally put my creative writing degree to some use

Knock, knock, knock......who shows up at my house at 3am last night......... one of the teens from hell. Stranded in NJ with no way home..... sigh.........

Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in

Spent last night knitting. I didn't mean to do it...I was gonna do just a few rows...but I'm making a jacket (it should look like a blazer when it's done, the gods willing) and I wanted to see how much I would get out of a single ball of this yarn. I would like to make the jacket slightly longer than the directions call for but I'm starting with a little less yarn than the pattern supposedly requires. The ball of yarn kept going and going, so I kept knitting and knitting.... The good news is that I should definitely have enough to make the jacket longer. :) (They always seem to tell you to buy way more yarn than you need. I think it's a conspiracy between the pattern makers and the yarn shops...)
I just want to publically thank you again for the fantastic creation for Baby X that you gave me at Elohimfest. It has fallen into Carla's hands since the trip, and has been packed away, and all of a sudden I can't remember if it is a jacket or sweater, or essentially both, so I apologize for that. But it is very lovely, and thanks again so much.

the idiot i/m's did not like the squash. no idea why. used butter, brown sugar and a touch of chili powder. my cooks thought it was great. my last unit? they loved it. kind of bummed about it. even though they are i/m's i still try to do the best food with the limited supplies we get. found out, that as of right now i will be a c/o short on the 4th of july. :(
I'd like to see your menu planner. We have a three week rolling menu system at work, with a weekly spend of £11 per prisoner per week. The menu changes for the spring/summer to autumn/winter.

Tomorrow I get a day off from the branch... in order to sit in an all day meeting :/

On the plus side, having a smart phone finally paid off. I was on the bus, and a cute girl saw me doing a Sudoku puzzle. We started playing scrabble on our phones, and tomorrow we're meeting for happy hour :)

Oh, and on the plus plus side, moving is going to cost me a *lot* less than I was afraid. So I can afford to go out tomorrow :D

Feel well soon, Julie!
Linna, may even your mixed days end with the light, beauty and warmth of a glorious sunset to usher you in to a joyous night.
sarge, I'm working my way down the Watch for the first time today. I hope not to be disappointed by no Big House Cuisine thread being in The Galley!
Rigel, have fun tomorrow night!
Jenn, perhaps Rigel's friend will be totally understanding. Such is not unheard of...

Best wishes to Julie for a quick recovery!

Menolly -- Yeah, but will *Jenn* be understanding? Have a great time, Rigel!

Had to be in an hour early this morning for a big meeting that one of my attorneys is hosting. I had to escort about 30 folks to the conference room. They arrived in dribs and drabs, of course. But tonight, Magickmaker and I are going to see "Wicked" at the Kennedy Center -- her belated birthday present from me. :)

Well, this week started with the plan to drive Beorn around to various businesses in the search for a summer paying position. He had a psychological reevaluation yesterday afternoon at the request of the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, since he hadn't been reevaluated since his initial diagnosis eight years ago, but other than that he has been a trooper about putting himself out there.

But man, have things changed since I last applied for work. He either goes straight to a kiosk and submits an electronic application, or is told to apply online. Is there no way to make an initial good first impression by being well groomed and polite with an actual person when filling in an application or handing in a resume in person anymore?
