Well, you northern hemispherers battle it out. As far as I'm concerned, I'm trying to pull the Aussie one together (actualy, that should be Antipodean, to include the Kiwi crew!) in Melbourne in April. I've got rehearsals starting on 23 January, and once we have finalised our tour dates & accommodation, I can recommend fly-in dates for everyone intending to come & times. It will probably have to be during day time, or after our rehearsals (ie after 10pm) if night time meets are organised, because I think every night from Monday onward is scheduled as rehearsals and/or performances. The after party might be fun to crash...

I know that I
should know what you're talking about. . . but I have no clue. Enlightenment, please?

Lyr, reason Elohimfest Oz is happening in Melbourne is that WA Symphony Orchestra & chorus (which I sing in) will be there for concert tour. My excuse to get to the east coast this year! And as a lot of Watchers live on East coast (& NZ is only across the ditch), we decided on Melbourne in April.
clear now?

Wow. . . awesome! Wish I could come hear you sing!

And that clears everything up nicely. Thank you!

San Fran would be great!
For those that would like too, I could take you around to some of the places Stephen used to frequent. The Gallery for sure. And maybe take a ride out to Atherton where Russ and I used to live. Out to Monteray too, where Stephen did his "woodstock" thing...LOL

My wife has some relatives in Albaquerque who she really would like a chance to see. If this materializes, I'd probably put together a trip with the whole Wayfamily. (If it doesn't, I probably will anway.) So I am eagerly anticipating the decision.
Which, by the way, we're five months from June.
So "bump" indeed.

Well, it doesn't look as though I will be able to do any major traveling this year.

Sowwy.

I'm getting ready to move and change jobs, and the place I just applied at won't let you take any vacation for 1 year. I already have to ask for time off for two weddings (maid of honor in April, bridesmaid in September), so I'm guessing that it just won't happen.
However, I might be able to swing some of the more local mini-meets.

OK, the latest from Jenn is that FBH wrap party will happen in July in SF. Originally it was suggested for E'fest 2007 to take place in June. According to the poll Albq. leads SF, 13-10.
So, what does everyone think? Are we on for New Mexico in June?

Who will check and see if SRD can visit with us? And what weekend should we shoot for? Perhaps you want to post another survey to pick the weekend in June, dbl?

June in NM!!
Woot.
It's only 1,430 miles... about 22hours according to Google Maps.
I bet I can drive that. I doubt I have 22 hours worth of music, though.
How long can I drive a car before it gets too warm?

first weekend in June ( Friday, June first)
the second weekend ( Friday, June 8th)

our work calender and i can't ask for the other two weekends off.

Doesn't it depend on who you're driving with?
Danlo spoke about putting something "big time" together earlier. 30th anniv of LFB celebration and stuff. What happened to that? I think an official 30th celebration would be awesome.
danlo wrote:If we do this here, and we do it in June we better start planning BIG time. I think my film crew can do a better job this year, we can find a better venue, without so much traffic in the background. Perhaps we can even get Robert Vardeman or G. R. R. Martin as master of ceremonies for the 30th anniversary of LFB. I need to start working with the Bubonicon people on this as well--the T-Shirts will be real cool! I need your help again aTOMiC!
Tell you what Romeo, you work on SRD and I'll try to get a message to Martin, somehow. If we have over 20 confirmed I'll talk to David Stienberg the literary editor of the Albq. Journal about doing a big celebration piece.

That may be a good plan... I was rethinking things, because driving would be almost as expensive as flying.
Ok, I'll take a look at general costs/times and get back to you!!
