This ;) I think MagickMaker must be something of a megalomaniac. ;)
its a really good thing I wasn't drinking anything when I read that CovJr!

RA stands for Resident Assistant. In a college dorm, they help the office of Housing and Residence Life by enforcing rules like quiet hours and underage drinking policies. They are also the person you could turn to if you had an issue with your roommate, or if your heater broke, or something of that nature. They're there to guide you, to go to if you have a problem, and to maintain order.

I'm going to be RA for the Otaku specialty hall. (Otaku being people who are really big into anime. We also accept people who really like sci-fi, fantasy, and horror.)

That rocks! :D I was a summer resident assistant one year. . . imagine a dorm full of adult students (most over 30 years old) working on their residence portion of masters' degree in education. It was. . . interesting. :P

But it was free room and board, and paid a little bit as well. . . and in I was able to take some summer courses to help me graduate a semester earlier than I should have. Oh. . . and it allowed me to work another part time job to boot. Man. . . I wish I had the energy now that I did when I was in college.

Being RA of Otaku Hall will be a whole lot more interesting. Louder, for one thing....

you said it! I'll have my hands full with this group. Typical quiet hours for the weekends are 1 or 2am to Noon-ish, if that tells you anything...

Getting ready to feed my snakes, does that count as interesting?

Today's most interesting activity was not just being away from the Watch, but being totally offline for a good five hours.

Why, you ask?
What possibly could have kept Menolly offline that long?

Well...
Hyperception deciding to install our DSL himself, that's what. I haven't seen him that frustrated in a long time. But...

We're up and running!
(for now)

Now to see how this slowest DSL works on all of those youtube links I've passed on since I've joined the Watch.

...where to start...where to start...

Today I did a presentation and handed in a research paper on a topic that I began to research last night at about 10pm. I think I got an A-.

Went to the animal shelter with my girlfriend and she adopted the most beautiful kitten. They're not sure what it was, but it looks an awful lot like a Russian Blue. Cutest little thing, I guess it's about 3 months old.

Thanks, I'm more of a bird person, but as she's my better half, I've learned to make compromises.

Well it was a nice spring lunch time in London...snow in the air...wind chill up to its usual tricks etc etc etc...
We decided to get out the cold and grab a bite to eat in a French style cafe. Spent a couple of hours chatting about various things before parting ways.
I certainly enjoyed it. Hopefully you will get a chance to meet him one of these days too!

heh...
Yesterday being my first full day of being on DSL, it was actually the day I spent the least amount of time on the forums in a long time. I think I didn't visit any forum, other than Gravin Threndor, after 5:00 PM EDT. I had errands in the morning, and the afternoon was tied up with Pantheon strategizing and composing.

...arrrgh...

I'm glad that's over, but I wouldn't have missed it for the world.

Chrysalis, I am so glad your visit with Xar went well.
One day...

...even if it means getting a passport and flying to Rome for the wedding of a mutual friend (whenever a date is set), although I seriously doubt I'll be able to do that...
