So I'm muddling this morning due to lack of sleep (got to sleep after 3am...all that damn coffee no doubt).
Yesterday was one of those overwhelming days. The landscape out here is incredible. We went from salt flats (man, I've never seen real mirages before but these were spectacular!). Then we went through plains surrounded by mountains topped by snow, tors and plateaus, and then I dunno what happened but the town before Rock Springs (where we are right now) which is called Green River...well...we may as well have been on a different planet! Unfortunately it was after 9pm by the time we got here so no pics of that but it's etched in my mind!
I admit I was kinda overwhelmed.
About midday yesterday we pulled over in a town on the boarder of Utah and Nevada. It had a truck stop and as we got out of the car we saw a truck called "Covenant transports"!!! Me and Cyn were all

and went over to take photographs...only for Cyn to notice a couple of minutes later that the next truck was labled "Stevens Transport".
Cyn hoped to get work out how to put photos from her camera to her laptop so we could post pictures but didn't get around to it but hopefully we might get something up tonight.
Time for me to get organised so...Seareach out.

Yeah, the desert is the best place for hallucinogens, so I've been told.
I can't believe I will be seeing you all tomorrow. In fact, I refuse to admit it even to myself. And a good chunk o' ya will be in town tonight. I wish I could participate. Stupid work.
But tomorrow the bad craziness will begin. My prediction - someone will cry, someone will die and someone will lose an eye. And someone will eat a pie.

Then we went through plains surrounded by mountains topped by snow, tors and plateaus,
hey Seareach used the word "tor" in a sentence! Where were the cols?
"Covenant Transports".... we're probably the only bunch of people, short of Christian Fundamentalists, who would even look twice at that.

Hey Dlb...there's one in Fatal Revenant...remember!?!?!? Not that I really know what they are but I reckon they were tors...and what is a col anyway. All I know was it was salty and then it was lumpy, and then it was dry and spectacular.
Me and Louise are heading out in about an hour (we've been doing washing!).
Next stop: Denver!

Tell us about this, slowly and without skipping any details.

I'd rather see something dry and spectacular.
Wait...what are we talking about again?

by half packed, I mean I've stuffed my sleeping bag and pad into the bag, with my swimsuit and a towel, and the scrabble board, and thats it.
but my laundry's done now, so I suppose I'll be figuring out what I'm bringing clothing-wise now, and packing it up...(hmm...time to go look at the weather channel.)

I'm thinking summer shirts (t-shirts most likely, I almost always wear denim for bottoms), with one sweatshirt I can pull on just in case. Will that work? I live in Florida. I don't have anything heavy other than a sweatshirt or two.
I also really don't do much traveling...Albuquerque elohimfest was my most recent trip.

Highs in the mid 80s, lows down to 57. You should be okay as long as you remember your sweatshirt. You're gonna want it at the campsite in the evening.
Also, there're supposed to be moderate levels of grass and pine pollen tomorrow, according to weather.com so if you're allergic, you might want to look into bringing along some allergy meds.

Thanks. I actually like weather in the 50ºs, but it can't hurt to bring the sweatshirt.

Ah...those are two things that
will set me off. I best go to Mother Earth for my tinctures and start dosing before I crash tonight.
