such banter makes me giggle... I haven't heard it in a long time, well, since the hockey strike (greedy b@st@rds!).

I can recall the one World Cup qualifying game I saw... Since Canada can't put together a half decent team over 18 years of age, I can't see anything here. But when i was back in Ecuador a few years back I got to see Equador play Belarus. Wow, what an experience. We got tickets (pretty darn cheap by N.American standards!) got there early and had good seats. The tickets had a 'set number' on them, but it became apparent that except for a few areas guarded by soldiers, everywhere else, people were getting in and sitting ANYWHERE! About 10 minutes before game time, I was very scared as people were literally climbing over us to move around to 'better' places, it felt like 1000 people were pushing aginst us at certain times. I thought there was going to be a huge push/stampede, whatever, and people were definately going to be hurt. 8O
A whistle suddenly sounds to start things, the players come out, national anthems played and just as suddenly, everyone became perfectly behaved (!?). No was was pushing, shoving or threatening to crush others. Somehow everyone suddenly found their 'spot' and watched the game. It became much more enjoyable, the game was great, Ecuador won and no one was ever hurt, crushed or 'threatened'... (whew)
For a very white boy in Quito (even with his latina wife), it was pretty scary there at the beginning....

English supporters of the past are gone. I think some others nation are worse then us. It is not about the suppoters, it is about the team. A famous german(which I don't seem to know the name of.. :P ) said that England are the best squad in Europe.. so we must be good if a German said it :P

My Belgian friend (I do remember his name; it's Dawie) said that German and English soccer players are all shite... so it must be true. :)

It's true, because Dawie said so. :D

Southampton have finally completed the signing of Dennis Wise, hoefully more will come like Steve Stone and Celtic do not steal ae players. It is quite scary that Wigan have not signed anybody, they have 25 million to spend!

I'm actually gonna drive to Toronto next week to go see the hated Rangers. At least Canadia has strong beer.

Rangers are a great team. It looks like Celtic are going to lose Bellamy because it looks like he will sign for Blackburn.

Oh, no doubt Bellamy's going to go. This is going to be a tough year for us.

Hear Hear!

Old Firm match August 20th at Ibrox. Shame I'll be sitting in a pub at 6:30 in the morning to watch it here in the States.

Celtic's definately gonna have an uphill battle. Then again, I'm going to try to hit as many Rangers as I can with my car when I see them Tuesday.

Well, the Rangers lost Tuesday in Toronto. I have never seen a more rabid bunch of fans in my life. A bunch of them flew over from Glasgow, and they were a scary bunch. Lots of fights amongst the fans. I wisely chose to keep my Celtic fandom incogneto.

Oh well Rangers lost. Celtic fans are just as bad as Rangers. Southampton beat Motherwell :D

Celtic have finally gven up on signing Niemi, now all we need is Liverpool to give up on Crouch. They might seens that Gerrard is staying, they have made three new signings and Figo might be going to the club.
