They'd better go after defense, as Manning made them look really bad.

Giants pulled out a bit of a squeaker against Dallas.

Only watched two games this weekend.

Falcons even with a 6 -0 record came into Philly as the underdogs and came out with a win. Eagles looked lackluster to me. Like they didn't really care of they won or lost. Falcons came in ready to win and kicked butt. Falcons 7 - 0 still considered by many to be over-rated despite their record.

Cowboys/Giants game was killer. Cowboys got into a deficit and battled back to almost win. But almost is only good in horseshoes and nuclear weapons. Romo showed in this game that if you can get to him, he will make big mistakes that cost turnovers. But regardless of that, the Cowboys are not a pushover team.

Week 9 has the Falcons vs Cowboys in Atlanta. Should be a fun night at the dome unless Atlanta gets creamed. True test for Atlanta. Even if the Falcons lose, as long as its not a blowout, they get a bit more credibility. However if the Falcons win, they go into week 10 .... 9 - 0 with a big target on their back. Right now I think the Falcons are still flying under the radar regardless of their record.

I watched a couple of games on the tube...

Bengals almost upset the Broncos. They had one last scoring drive in them and had made some great plays, and then it was penalty, penalty, penalty, penalty... about 30 yards worth... and then they were out. Still Andy Dalton and the Bengals are a young team. I dont think they will be much of a factor this year but next year...

GB and Arizona played and it wasn't as much of a match up as I had hoped. Arizona was pretty much outclassed.

I went to the Falcons/Cowboys game and it was about what I expected. The Cowboys played tough because they really need a win after the loss (by a fingernail practically) to the Giants last week. Falcons defense was able to hold them back. I was really concerned that their running game was going to kill the Falcons but the D was able to stop the run and make those 3rd down stops when it mattered. Offensively I thought Atlanta played well, except in the Red Zone. Atlanta has to find ways to get touchdowns and stop settling for FG's. However I will credit the Cowboys defense for making those stops when it mattered. Eventually Atlanta just wore them down for a close win. 8-0 ..... but because we didn't blow them out, and with no post season wins from previous years, Atlanta continues to be the most under-rated winning team in the NFL.

Had them when I was there. Had a decent coach too.

As nuts for football as Jax is, it's a damn shame the team isn't better. I really loved how the town all but shut down on game days and everything was about the Jags. I've been all over the country, and I've never seen a more football-crazy town than Jacksonville, Florida.

Gawd I miss living there.

Well that is exactly what got a 1 in the loss column for Atlanta. Falcons are winning games and doing well, but for a playoff and/or SB run they MUST be able to convert those times in the end-zone into touchdown points. What needs to change is the running game. We need an O-line and a RB that can get that yard when we need it. Going even back to last year, when its crunch time and 1 yard or even inches, the Falcons get 'stuffed' more often than not. I don't think the awesome passing game that Atlanta has, to be able to carry them very far in the playoffs

It's too easy to defend the pass when you only have 5 or 10 yards to cover. Happens to Gabbert every week. With a RB worth a dang, it gives you a power option that's harder to defend.

Sorry I haven't had a lot to say this season, I'm sure that people begin to tune me out when I go after lousy officiating. I've seen no improvement. I just want to see games called evenly, (No star treatment) and apparently that is asking for too much.

Good Thanksgiving games this year.

Detroit was robbed of a win by a call that anyone could see was not a touchdown. I see the rule about challenge flags on reviewable plays being changed next season.

Jets stunk up the field. Lots of blooper reels on that one. Come on... 3 touchdowns in less than 50 seconds... LOL

I feel good when Jets stink, even though not a pat's fan...but that would have been a funny WTF?? no matter who it happened to...

Detroit, however, was robbed by their own coach...it was entirely his own mistake. Whether one likes the rule or not, everyone knows it exists. The play definitely would have been reviewed and ruling certainly would have been overturned if the coach hadn't freaked out.

Giants put a full out butt wooping on the Packers. When the Giants are 'on' they are 'on'! They could easily be a contender again this year.

Falcons again squeak one out. Probably the best match-up I saw this weekend. TB was on a 4 game winning streak and is playing hard to stay in the race for a wildcard spot. Atlanta has a few injuries that makes me wonder how the post season will go. Julio is back in, but Asante Samuals has a shoulder injury, Corey Peters went out injured although he came back and I wonder if Matt Bryant's back injury is not quite fixed, he has missed more FG's in the last 2 games than in the last 2 years.

It was good to see the Saints lose to SF. Atlanta has to play them on Thursday and I would really like to see Atlanta beat the Saints and take away any hope of a playoff for them this year.

Didn't watch the Pats/Jets game until Sunday. I wasn't able to avoid knowing some of the outcome in advance. But it was still worth watching for those 50 seconds ... And watching Wilfork pick up a guy and knock down Sanchez with him ... Edelmann taking a wallop ...

In the Detroit game, the mess w/the challenge flag totally seems to have overwhelmed the decision that may have been more decisive - in OT, 3rd and 11, attempt 47 yd FG rather than get closer. Missed. Despite the blown TD call, Lions had a chance and settled. Also, at end of 4th, twice the Lions had ball in FG range, and on 3rd down, Stafford got sacked, pushing them out. TWICE. This team has tons of talent, but does just enough to lose every week.

The Lions. What a joke. Just saw the end of that game. What a bunch of losers.

Officials screw Browns with an awful ball spot, Browns respond with interception on next play. Man Oakland has a crappy field.
The Browns win the day barely.
Steelers outlast Ravens.
Colts stun Lions.
Chiefs play through the pain, and come away with a win.

Thursday nights game Falcons vs Saints was crazy! The dome was electric with people energy. The Saints smack talk in the CNN center and on the way to the Dome was over the top. But as it became clear that the Saints were going to lose, those same people left quietly.

Tampa Bay lost on Sunday which clinched the NFC south for Atlanta. So I will be paying the big bucks for playoff seats. Anything could happen, yet the Atlanta team isn't the same one from last year or the year before. Now more than ever I see the Falcons getting a win in the playoffs. Depending on how they play in a couple of weeks (against the Giants), I think will determine if they have the ability to go all the way.

I was working outside this weekend and didn't catch any of the other games.
