And you, too, FD!

Heh, I'd have to deliver it to myself as well.Juan Valdez wrote:....quick note on copyright information for anyone concerned...the easiest and most cost effective way to copyright your work....of any media.....is to...obtain a package...anything from envelope manilla folder...or box..if need be....and mail it to yourself.....step two....dont open it...ever....when any package or letter is sent...it has a postmark date from a govt. office..(us postal).....this makes it a legal document of sorts....and will stand up in any court.....so if copyright issues ever creep up...or outright theft......all you do...is go to court on your appointed date...if you so choose to take it that far.....place your UNOPENED and POSTMARKED....package or letter etc....before the judge....he sees it is unopened...and untampered with.....and the postmark date...if it is truly your material you will most likely have taken these precautions before the other party.....and upon opening the package....the judge sees the work therein....and well..as long as it pre-dates any other evidence brought before him.....(again if it truly is yours...it will almost assuredly predate anything else)....then the case is yours......
hope this helps.....someone....
take care all....

Yes. It's been underwhelming so far. But this project has only just started, and maybe a lot of people are still figuring out what to submit or polishing their stories. It's also quite possible that many members remain simply unaware of the anthology. Let's face it, we just have this one thread advertising the whole thing. It's not even stickied.Dragonlily wrote:Committee, have you gotten any submissions yet?
In my case, dAN and Prorider514 we are all hard at work creating brand new stories. It may be a month before any of us have completed our work. I wouldn't count on there being much business for a while yet.Matrixman wrote:Yes. It's been underwhelming so far. "If you can't tell the difference, what difference does it make?"
Ouch, that bad? Heh. Well, It'd be nice if I could, but I don't think I'll have much time to seriously edit it. Plus, I really wouldn't want to bother editing it anyway, heh. Creative writing and writing in general just aren't my thing...I'm an Engineer/Math nerd at heart. I wouldn't know where to begin to edit it.Waynhim Barrister wrote:We got your story, Jay. I've read it. I think at this early stage in the Anthology time line, it would probably be best to get some editing done on it before the selection team makes a final decision.
Oh yeah? I don't think I was around for that argument, heh. Are you sure compunction is a word?Alynna Lis Eachann wrote:Heh, thanks for the good word, Jay! LOL, I still remember getting into a huge fight with Keto in English because he didn't believe that "compunction" was a word...

Anyway, I remember reading that story a while back!Send it to me if you want, and I can do a read-through and polish up the basics if necessary.
I look back on things I've done and cringe. Fortunately I don't write much of it down, so my memory is free to wipe itself clean.my brain has a way of making everything I've done in the past seem lame and embarrassing...heh.
Every author says the same thing.Nathan wrote:I look back on things I've done and cringe. Fortunately I don't write much of it down, so my memory is free to wipe itself clean.my brain has a way of making everything I've done in the past seem lame and embarrassing...heh.
Whenever I read something I've written down I realise how crap it is and wish I'd never written it. At least it shows I'm improving... I hope that's what it shows anyway.
