Ah, the wisdom of Juan Valdez....though his Presence in my time here has been only slight, yet I too feel the warmth of his protection enwrapping me like a warm fluffy blanket...
muchas gracias SeƱor Valdez!
And you, too, FD!

Heh, I'd have to deliver it to myself as well.
We got your story, Jay. I've read it. I think at this early stage in the Anthology time line, it would probably be best to get some editing done on it before the selection team makes a final decision.

Ok, never mind. Sustained narrative isn't my strong point.

Yes. It's been underwhelming so far. But this project has only just started, and maybe a lot of people are still figuring out what to submit or polishing their stories. It's also quite possible that many members remain simply unaware of the anthology. Let's face it, we just have this one thread advertising the whole thing. It's not even stickied.

In my case, dAN and Prorider514 we are all hard at work creating brand new stories. It may be a month before any of us have completed our work. I wouldn't count on there being much business for a while yet.

Ouch, that bad? Heh. Well, It'd be nice if I could, but I don't think I'll have much time to seriously edit it. Plus, I really wouldn't want to bother editing it anyway, heh. Creative writing and writing in general just aren't my thing...I'm an Engineer/Math nerd at heart. I wouldn't know where to begin to edit it.
The main reason why I submitted it is because it's the only real serious work of creative writing I've ever done... Simply because it's so hard for me to do, heh.
So I guess I'll just leave it as it is, and if you guys like it, then fine, and if not, then oh well. No harm done.-jay

Gosh with standards this high I'm afraid to submit anything!

**goes off to ponder non TC fantasy storylines, which I can't start on until I finish the WGW Dissection conclusion anyway...**

For heaven's sake, Danlo, you can't chicken out.

I'm hoping for the chance to work with you on something.
I know of seven people who are working on stories right now, and that doesn't include the people aTOMiC told us about.

Heh, thanks for the good word, Jay! LOL, I still remember getting into a huge fight with Keto in English because he didn't believe that "compunction" was a word...
Anyway, I remember reading that story a while back!

Send it to me if you want, and I can do a read-through and polish up the basics if necessary.
If anybody wants a second opinion on their work before submission, you are welcome to send it to me. What this will most likely mean is that I won't be a good choice to edit that specific piece
after submission, depending on how attached I get to it.

Yay, I made a poem! I won't post it, though, cause I'm submitting it straight to the Anthology. Er, that is, once I have at least 4 more poems to go with it. A short story might be very possible since I've got a whole month off, and ideas will have time to gestate, as college is fading from my mind.

Okokok, I made the topic an Announcement. Happy, everyone? Heh.
You should know by now that if you want anything at all, all you gatta do is ask me enough times, heh.

Oh yeah? I don't think I was around for that argument, heh. Are you sure compunction is a word?
Hey, didn't Keto sign up on the Old Ez-board Watch, and spam it with either Tolkien stuff or Anti-Covenant stuff? Heh, I can't remember.
Oh, you actually remember reading my story? Heh, oh yeah, I guess I did send it to you back when I wrote it. Well, yeah, sure, if you want to read and edit it, that'd be awesome. Thanks. I sure don't want to read it again myself...my brain has a way of making everything I've done in the past seem lame and embarrassing...heh. Should I wait to send it until after you're done with the semester? Or do you want to be distracted now? Heh.-jay

I look back on things I've done and cringe. Fortunately I don't write much of it down, so my memory is free to wipe itself clean.
Whenever I read something I've written down I realise how crap it is and wish I'd never written it. At least it shows I'm improving... I hope that's what it shows anyway.

Every author says the same thing.

LOL, you were definitely there for that argument, Jay... it was in that class we did the crazy sci-fi video for. And the Kennedy-as-Macbeth's-ghost skit. I think you were just too polite to get involved. And it is too a word! Means, um... let me go look that up...
Yeah, he did spam ezboard way back when. Did you ban him, or did he just get bored?
You can send the story to me now, if you want. I'll look it over as I get time... and it will be a good distraction. I have -ack!- five papers to write, all due between the 8th and the 15th, depending on the class.
I can't wait to take landscape ecology next semester. There's only one big paper! Then again, there will probably be a bunch in the Governance and the Foreign Policy classes. *sigh*

Heh, ok, if you say so. I just don't recall that arguement. And I'm sure I would have remembered a word like "compunction", heh. My memory stinks, though.
Haha, but I can never forget that Kennedy/Macbeth skit. That was fun. "I am, er, Kennedy."
And if the people here at the Watch ever saw "The Chronicles of the Yoink"...hehe. It'd probably just scare them.
I don't think I ever banned him. I think he just got bored.
Ok, cool, I'll probably send the story out to you sometime over the next few days, whenever I'm at my computer with a copy of it and have a chance to send it. Thanks a lot.
Yeah, good luck with your papers. I have a couple of projects to do myself that professors have sprung on me at the last minute...

Compunction is definitely a word, but the meaning eludes me...
Actually...here's the
www.m-w.com entry:
1 a : anxiety arising from awareness of guilt <compunctions of conscience> b : distress of mind over an anticipated action or result <showed no compunction in planning devilish engines of... destruction -- Havelock Ellis>
2 : a twinge of misgiving : SCRUPLE <cheated without compunction>

I will give an example of it's use (as I have used it): He had no compunction in returning the Cactus to New Mexico.

Compunction: regrets, guilt, qualms.
He had no compunction about dumping his loyal, longtime girlfriend for the boss's daughter.
