Last call for votes. I will probably tally them up tomorrow.

... and the judges have reached a decision.
And the winners are ...
aliantha
ebony_squire
Effaeldm
Menolly
Savor Dam
The winners have made it into the foul, slimy depths of the Sarangrave. They are the five Survivors. There, the process of elimination shall begin, until only one Survivor remains on the Isle.
In the coming weeks, there will be
Tests. There will be a
Staff of Immunity to be awarded. There will be
voting. There will be fun and thrills and suffering and
humiliations galore. Stay tuned.

This will be interesting! Some extremely good writers and creative thinkers in this competition...not to mention the high level of SRD knowledge.

Um...is there an Isle in the swamp?
Or is this an artifact of a previous Survivor season?

I think we should give Ananda a hearty "good game"! I couldn't pick six.
(She may regret not voting.)

The Test of Screams
The mission was halfway down the ridge when the sound began.
It started low, wet, and weak, like the groan of a dying man. It transfixed the riders. As they listened to it, it slowly swelled.
It scaled upward in pitch and volume - became a ragged scream - echoed across the pools. Higher and louder it went on. Through it, the Lords shouted together, "Melenkurion abatha! Duroc minas mill khabaal!" But they could hardly make themselves heard.
In this Test, the Survivors must make Donaldson's fans scream. Nothing makes them scream more than introducing crazy new characters at the very end of the story. And the craziest characters are always found in Saturday morning cartoon shows.
Each Survivor must propose a character from an actual kids cartoon show that Donaldson should introduce into
The Last Dark as a major new character. And they should explain, in a bit of detail, how the character fits into the narrative, and the impact that the new character will have on the overall plot.
Seperately, the Staff of Immunity will be awarded to the person who can send to me,
via PM, the best answers to these Chronicles questions:
- Who/what would eat the deceased as bread?
- What role did knifefish play in the Chronicles?
- What did Hierachy do on Feb 22, 2004 that started a phenomenon?
When all the entries are in, the audience will vote for the Survivor whom they consider to have surpassed the others in this contest. Then the winner of the Staff of Immunity will be revealed. The Survivor with the least number of votes will leave the Sarangrave with a cash prize of 1 WGD. However, the Survivor who has won the Staff of Immunity cannot be voted off. The remaining four Survivors will move on to the next Test.
(Apologies for being late.)

Way, what's our deadline? I'm on vacation this week without access to the Chrons, and today's my last day with guaranteed intarwebz access 'til late Friday night.

Well, we have to wait for each Survivor to post, don't we? And I'm not really in a position to criticize people for tardiness.

way, I have a quick question:
When you said...
wayfriend wrote:And the craziest characters are always found in Saturday morning cartoon shows.

...are you limiting us to animated characters which have
only appeared on Saturday morning cartoon shows;
originally appeared there; or animated characters aimed at children in general, regardless of if they have ever been on a Saturday morning show or not?
I would assume characters from more adult oriented shows, such as
Family Guy,
King of the Hill, or even
South Park to be "off limits?"

My intention was to angle for the kid-oriented shows that are, or used to be, on Saturday mornings. (Anything
here, for example.) With the advent of all-cartoon-all-day channels, this definition needs to be stretched a bit. However, as usual there is no "wrong" answer - there is only how well the judges think you've met the objective.

That link is most helpful.
Thanks!

TMNT on top

Thought of one of their characters among the first variants, though discarded for now, I have some different ideas about that

Good timing, I just saw Survivor announced their new cast this week. I don't watch the show tho, so I don't know why I mentioned that. But Jeff Kent, who I believe won NL MVP (baseball) is a contestant, which just seems weird b/c its not a celebrity cast. And he still has his little mustache.
Anyway, good luck to all. I look forward to voting (and bribes...).

Sorry, Way. Real Life has been fairly high-maintenance. Staff answers PM and scream-inducing post introducing a cartoon character into the Chrons are forthcoming.
