I thought I should find out what all the fuss is about. I'm quite enjoying it so far; I think my favourite song from this album at the moment is 'Children of the Sea'. I'm slightly amused by 'Lady Evil' though - the opening bass riff sounds the same as the one in '9 to 5' by Dolly Parton.
That album exactly fits the sound I have in my head of what classic metal should sound like.

Currently parts of the soundtrack of Matrix: Reloaded, the mixes of orchestration and Juno Reactor's techno beats. Exciting stuff. Before that: This Dying Soul by Dream Theater and Caught In A Mosh by Anthrax. Oh Yeah.

Haven't thought about them in a long time.

I pretty much agree. Can't get much more 'classic metal' than this album.

Now playing:

Lol, Doro. I can remember when that album came out, late eighties somewhere? I'll go With Heaven & Hell (or any other Sabbath album) any day. :-)

Heh, yeah. A friend of mine is going to Toronto in a couple of weeks, and Doro's playing while he's there. He's so overjoyed at the chance to see her live that he almost punched me in the head when I said I'd never heard anything of hers. So I decided to remedy the situation. So far, so...ok. *shrug* Average-ish 80s rock.

Again. This amuses me every time I listen to it. The first song has a lyrical gem of a chorus: "All we are, all we are, we are, we are all, all we need." :screwy: And on the album's best song, I Rule the Ruins, Doro seems to have a speech impediment and sounds like she's singing "I woo the wombs".

Heh. Never listened to Doro, but must admit I am getting intrigued.

Got the new Ozzy today, pretty good so far. Not heavy enough.

It's fairly straightforward 80s cheese metal. Like the Scorpions, but with a female singer.
