Looked like you were on for a bit today - hopefully a good sign?
The 'dig up a tank' thing failed, so we're going Fri/Sat. Sorry, Ro.

I'm hopeful. It's been connected all night, but that might be coincidence. I'll find out when I get home tonight if it's working.
Edit: On the other hand, looks like your raid is starting at 2.30am, so I'll probably not manage it.

Ah, too bad. I always prefer to start early, but there are some who can't today.

Since you're only planning on two wings tonight, I might try anyway. Spider is only half an hour, after all. Plus it might be the only way I'll finally get to see Loatheb, heh.

We can knock Plague out pretty quickly too if enough people stay alive on the dance.
I'll remember to bring the smoke flares this time, which we can use to mark safe zones so people know where to run instead of just trying to follow.

I think I know it well enough. After a pass or two I should have it down. Though I can't guarantee I'll position him well for the melee (assuming I'm even tanking him*), he has a big hitbox and doesn't drag all the way over easily.
*I must say, though I have no problem offtanking on a multi-target fight, I do prefer to main tank single targets. Particularly when there are more things to do than worry about threat. The extremes I've had to go to in the past to stop taking aggro from some tanks...

It will depend on who else we have signed up for tonight, but last night we only had Oden signed up, and he isn't quite geared to be MT yet.
Legacy's website is now up and running:
www.legacyofthescryers.wowstead.com/
They're interested in a possible guild merge. I resisted the idea at first, but I think it's best to put it on the table and see what everyone thinks.
I know The Watch is home to us. For some of us, it's the only home we've known.
As much as we would like to be able to do our own things, we're in pretty bad shape right now. It's possible that some of the people we lost will return. I think some of them do still intend to, but they have taken new responsibilities and made new friends, and that won't be easy to walk away from.
We could always try recruiting, but to me, it makes more sense to join with a group that we already know and get along with. We already have an alliance with them. There's no pressure. They aren't going to ditch us if we don't take their name.
I was hesitant to bring it up, as I know it may divide us again if some decide to go and some are against the idea.
It wouldn't mean abandoning The Watch, as we could do what AD did and leave alts - and if for some reason it doesn't work out we could always go back.
I don't think we should rush to a decision, but I do think we should give it serious thought.

Is this the new guild that Kell is setting up?

Yes, Dray and Kell are the guild leaders, and the rest of the team is AD raiders. AD actual is being left open for low-level alts.

What is this Legacy stuff about? I notice the roster only has a few characters from AD, is this just a name-change rather than a merge with someone else, then?
Edit: posted at the same time as Deva...
To be honest, I might be willing to make the switch if it wasn't for one thing: I just can't raid at your times. It's an entirely selfish reason, but I've really been holding off from them from the start because being with AD would do pretty much nothing to get me into the content I want to see. If I wasn't organising OS myself I'd probably rarely even see the place.
Edit: I'd also be breaking their consumables rules every raid when I bring mana and armor potions and don't even carry healing potions (or bandages!) in my bags.

I don't understand why we would have to 'switch'. I like having our own home ... it's comfy. With "bunnyslippers" we can all chat together. We can certainly still raid together. The only downside is not having a shared vault ... but that still doesn't prevent us from helping each other with mats and gear. Lastly, such a move seems to be a further 'distancing' from DO; or would they also have their mains join this combined guild?

i guess that depends on how you measure "bad shape."
in fact, i see the position i'm in as optimal. i can run with whatever
group i choose.
the watch is my home guild and i'm not really ready to jump ship yet
even if some see it as sinking. i'll stay at the watch for now.
if anyone wants to move toons to any other group, thats cool with me.
my friends are my friends, don't matter to me what guild they're in.
i see advantages to moving to a raiding guild and can understand if
some of you want to do so. as i said, its cool with me.

I'd be willing and happy to put a level 80 character in legacy, but I would like to keep a solid core in The Watch. It's fun being able to invite friends to the guild, even if they never become raiders, and just to goof off.
Legacy as a raiding guild would be fun, but for me there is a lot to to the game that doesn't involve raiding.
I hope we can find some solution that is the best of all worlds! I want it all.

I like them, but they're harder core at running instances than I am.
After a day at work, all I feel like doing on WoW sometimes is taking Adolar's Titansteel Destroyer to AB and planting it between a Tauren's eyes. Moo. Anyway, I've always enjoyed pvp because it's fun if there's a good match. Quick, only in WSG can you get stuck in a long match. But also I don't need a time commitment to do it. Some nights I just don't feel like logging in for two or three hours. A couple of bg's in 45 minutes and I'm good.

To stray from the topic momentarily, the Druid forms info is now all out, and looks like Anthun is going to have to change his hair colour to light blue...

Legacy is AD's raid team. Not everyone has moved over yet; we're still setting some things up. We do plan to do some necessary recruiting, but at the moment it's all people you know.

We don't have to switch. It's just an idea. Bunnyslippers will still connect The Watch with Legacy and AD, and a lot of people spend more time chatting there than in their own guilds, and since we do all get along and spend a lot of time chatting together, a more formal alliance wouldn't hurt. And like I said, we would still have The Watch.
As to DO... this has absolutely nothing to do with them in any way. I'm trying to think of a diplomatic way to say that we don't want their drama... but hey, we don't want their drama. AD distanced themselves from DO at the same time the 25s fell apart, and I really have been staying out of any and all Watch/DO relationships. I don't even recognize most of the names on their roster these days, but they appear to have done a massive amount of recruiting. While there are people in DO that I care about and consider friends, DO is doing their own thing and AD is not going to help or hinder them in it.

I measure 'bad shape' as not having enough people to do much of anything. We have a great core group, and with the dual-specs we're working on we will become a bit more versatile, but we will still be a very small group, and we can't seem to hold onto anyone we recruit who isn't a KW member.
Anyway, it was an idea, and thank you all for the candid feedback.
'Stay as we are' seems pretty unanimous so far, and as I said, there's no pressure.
That's the answer I expected, which is part of why I was hesitant to bring it up in the first place.

No, it is great that you brought it up. It is a thought that occurred to me a few days ago (that realistically AD should try to swallow us up [I don't mean that in a bad way]).
It is good to put it on the table, so we can think about it, talk about it, and keep it in mind for the future. I think rather than making any immediate decision, letting nature take its course is called for. See how things flesh out and be open to ideas. I can't think of any reason this can't be maturely pondered and discussed without hesitation.
