The GF has gone off pipes for the moment, so she still rolls. And we usually roll at work, since there are several of us and it goes round better. But at home, it's much easier to load a little pipe quickly and have a few tokes.

Yes, it's got a spiral screw construction on the inside, so the smoke travels a much longer path than the length of the pipe.

Also, because of the screw-cap, it's effectively a smokeless pipe...the only smoke is what you exhale.

While I have no interest in the current topic, I enjoy reading about what others find worth discussing. As long as it doesn't get heated or hurtful.

Not feeling great. Went to dAN's father's funeral yesterday and saw dAN for the first time in weeks. He is really struggling with health issues, severely limited sight, motor skills issues and he has lost a noticeable amount of weight. Outside of my wife dAN is my best friend in the world, we grew up together. I am pretty worried. Also just heard my Aunt Betty isn't responding to chemo and she is being moved to hospice. Just a hard time all around.

I think it is unlikely that dAN will be able to visit the Watch for the foreseeable future so I will try and post updates on his condition.

Ah hell TOM, sorry to hear, and thanks for letting us know. Tell dAN we're thinking of him.

I'm mostly fine, relatively speaking. Think I'm fighting off a bit of flu or something, but too busy to get sick now.

Massive deadline for our entry to the Google Partner Awards, so will prob be working late today, and depending on how things go, maybe even have to work tomorrow.

So I can't hang around.

gosh i'm really sorry to hear about dAN's health issues. what's happened to his sight? and sorry to hear about his dad and your Aunt Betty. give him a hug for me, won't you. we haven't talked for years now but there was a time I considered us close friends. tell him my phone number hasn't changed and if he needs an ear, i'll be quiet and listen and not argue for the universe. (that might make him chuckle) <3

I will let him know.
He has been having issues for about a year now, getting progressively worse. He has a couple of doctor appointments coming up that will hopefully identify his condition and offer a treatment. Fingers crossed.

Waiting for a diagnosis is so stressful. I hope they figure it out quickly.

Also stressful and frustrating when one has a major episode, only to have all the medical folks tell you it is "idiopathic"; a ten-dollar word for "we don't know what happened..."

Yes, it is comforting that the episodic crisis was dealt with and all is now well...but WTF caused it and how might one avert a reprise??

Modern medicine is pretty amazing, but doctors don't always know as much as they think they do and they hate admitting when they're wrong. Never be afraid to ask for a second opinion.


Just a general observation, not directed at anyone in particular. (Spent 6 months in 2007 being told I absolutely did not have a condition that my family has a history of. Absolutely did have it.)
