:::blushing furiously:::

Thanks Stoney.

That makes me even happier than the many congratulations I got after my adult Bas Mitzvah ceremony this morning.

But I still don't understand a lot of the wheelings and dealings that seems to go on in this game. And not recognizing what half the races are seems to be a disadvantage as well...

Ah well...I'll just plod along as best I can, and pray no one decides to attack me.

Why, the AllFather, of course!!

:::although I truly do appreaciate both Undine's and Jove's help regarding both the recent trip to the water park with six 13 year old boys, and keeping the nearby wild fires at bay:::

...I loved the "making the sign of the dolphin" (or was it "fish") blessing sent my way...

Well, there's mine. *sigh*

And now I can read everybody else's! I haven't read any yet, because I'm scared I'll just steal ideas.

Well, this looks like it'll be a major turn, given the staggering amount of important events and actions the various gods have taken. It might take a few days to sort everything out; in the meantime, however, only a few hours are left before the deadline for the contest!

Thank you for sharing, my sister.

Allright, time to end the contest. As I haven't received any requests for a deadline extension, the creation myth contest is officially closed, and now voting can begin. However, players who haven't managed to finish their entry in time can still post their creation myth: while it won't be considered for voting purposes, it would still be a welcome addition to the growing complexity of Eiran, and as a pleasant and worthwhile read for all other players.

So, the gods whose creation myths are eligible for voting are:

Lord Adomorn
Astavyastataa Kadna
Bhakti
Jove
Mithyaat Vam
O-gon-cho
Simjen
Undine
Vadhaka Chorah

The voting procedure is quite simple. Every player in the Pantheon game (even if he or she hasn't taken part in the contest) can choose three of the creation myths, in order of preference from highest to lowest, and send me an email or a PM containing these preferences. Voting is to be secret, so please do not announce who you voted for, be it through the comments thread or PMs.

Voting will last until saturday, to give players enough time to re-read the myths multiple times, if needed, as well as to give all players the chance to partecipate, even if they do not log on daily. The deadline for voting will therefore be Saturday, May 26th, 10 pm GMT time. After that, I will be posting the names of the authors of the three most-voted creation myths, and each contestant will receive a boost in their number of worshipers depending on the amount of votes received (although all contestants will receive a prize, even if they do not receive any votes).

Incidentally, this increase in worshipers will not necessarily be tied to the turn's end, so it might actually happen mid-turn.

A copy of the voting guidelines is also posted in the post which introduced the creation myth contest, for ease of reference.

Excellent stories everyone! And an excellent game to both the players and the GM. Thanks for making my weekends filled with anger and joy! ;)

No rule against voting for yourself?

And Xar, please don't forget to post a cryptic comment or two in the next couple days!

I've decided to allow everyone to vote for any story, including your own if you so wish. It's up to your own conscience to decide whether your story is truly better than all the others, or not... thus far, among the votes I've received a few people did vote for their own stories, but never as the best one, so it looks like it might work ;)

As for the cryptic comment, of course I will - oh, and if I do get everyone's votes before saturday, there's no reason why the results can't be revealed before the deadline ;)

Cryptic Comment #1: Looks like a couple of deities overdid themselves with their intrigues... they might not be pleased by the outcome ;)
