There once was a horn-dog, Quagmire
Who did to a Lordship aspire
But desire to mate
Led this darn reprobate
In haste to bedchambers retire

When the Lords rode off east to their quest
(And in time had to face dreaded skest)
He ignored his orders
And went to his quarters
Where desires were never repressed
Spoiler
A conquest was once heard to say
“Oh dear, I am wearing away
The inside of my thighs
Look just like mince pies
For Quagmire won’t shave every day”

What fate for this lover so ardent?
The end of his tale’s quite important
Our oversexed schnook
Got moved to a new book
As Master Eremis of Mordant
Love prevails.

Oh, hell. Here goes. Best I can do.

Quagmire, a misogynist Lord,
Reached Sarangrave, brashness untoward.
He said, "Weaponless?
But surely you jest!
I'm armed with an acid-proof sword!"

[What research I found not only said Quagmire is a pervert, but he also fancies himself a member of "The Rat Pack." So, while it doesn't make sense, here goes...]

Dean, Sammy, and Frank après show
Decided they must have a go
At rhyming for fun
Quagmire’s fate on the run
From Sarangrave, where evil doth flow.

Sammy:
The Sarangrave had not one lass
Which this cool cat, Quagmire, could harass
His temperament stifled
While his demeanor is rifled
Perhaps a skest will do for a pass

Dean:
Now our boy had no booze close at hand
Even Skest did not please our brigand
“A L-rd,” you say?
I cry, “Nay, nay!
A L-rd without booze must be banned.”

Frank:
You boys have got him all wrong
Quagmire’s turmoil did not last that long
The Flat, while under a charm
Allowed him, with a lass on each arm
To stride out, brazenly belting my song

Start spreading the news

Gah! I am not ready for so much promptness!

Everyone already has entries in, in under 24 hours ... a record I think.

However, I am not calling for votes just yet ...

This round of Survivor went fast
Inspired by Family Guy cast
I applaud the poems
They didn’t write tomes
The talent in this game is vast
Spoiler
It helped that the subject was ribald
Of things thrusted and suckled and nibbled
Not PG? That’s OK!
We enjoy the risqué
(So far, at least no one has quibbled….)

Speaking for myself, I saw everyone else was in and didn't want to hold up the game.
...not that additional time would have made any difference on my attempt.

I have all of the Staff of Immunity answers now, so it's time to vote.

|R aliantha, "Quagmire, a misogynist Lord, ..."
|R Effaeldm, "There was this Lord Quagmire who gave ..."
|R Menolly, "Dean, Sammy, and Frank après show ..."
|R Savor Dam, "There once was a horn-dog, Quagmire ..."

Everyone except Survivors can vote for the two entries that they think are the best. Each vote will count equally. Survivors can vote for only one, and not their own. Ex-Survivors are not Survivors. Remember, vote for ones you like. And, as always, go out and Pimp the Vote!

I'll try to announce winners on Friday.

He's a poet.
...and he knows it.
My lone vote goes to:

Tough decision. <Sindatur considers creating an alternate nick in order to vote for the other two  >

Augured I aright
Correctly countered
This blight of balloting
Challenges of choosing

Heinous half an hour
Spent in Youtube, yea
Research, rewatch rare
Alas, a brainmelt bloody!

Atrocious animation
Giggity codswallop
Meaner than Marvel's 'myths'
Lo, how moaned my mind.

Behold! A beam bright
In the gloom glimmers
A spark of savvy
A wink of wry wit!

Unfunny applesauce
As randy rhymes run
Sniggerworthy verses
This thread titivate!

Vote shall I so
Mind mended
Heart hardened:

|R Effaeldm, "There was this Lord Quagmire who gave ..."
|R Savor Dam, "There once was a horn-dog, Quagmire ..."

Don't really know anything about this debauched character but I have to go with Savor Dam and Menolly. Great entries. :D

I provide this so the Survivors can get a feel for how well they did. But they shouldn't tell us and ruin the surprise.

The answers to the Staff of Immunity questions are:
  1. Which ediface had three rear entrances?
    • Coercri, the Grieve.
In The Wounded Land was wrote:Its back was toward him; Coercri faced the Sea. The Unhomed had honeycombed the sheer cliff above the breakers so that their city confronted the east and hope. Only three entrances marked the rear of The Grieve, three tunnels opening the rock like gullets, forever gaping in granite sorrow over the blow which had reft them of habitation and meaning.
  2. What does Donaldson call "the only truly human form of power"?
    • Self-mastery.
In the Gradual Interview, Stephen R Donaldson wrote:One could argue legitimately, of course, that no prisoner is free. By definition. But one could also argue with equal legitimacy that even a prisoner is free to choose his/her attitude toward imprisonment. Indeed, one could argue that self-mastery (the ability to choose one's own thoughts and emotions) is the only truly human form of power.

      (06/29/2005)
  3. Who is Higgins O'Higgins?

In trying to garner more votes, not necessarily for me, but for WWM in general, I shared the link to the contest in several places on Facebook. I then asked way via PM to hold off on announcing winners until after the weekend, in case some Watchers don't visit Facebook until the weekend.

So, blame me for results being later than Friday, not way...

Wait...Dude, your name isn't Chad they didn't make you go to Florida, don't do half the job. As a Non-competitor in the Game Voting, you have 2 votes.

I thought we covered this in the other thread
